  1. Way to go!!! Maybe they can do a correction to the story? In any case it is wonderful to see you and your Mom doing this together! God Bless, MO
  2. Donna, Do you mean Big Sandy by McGregor? Are you staying at the Corps Rec. Area or do you stay someplace else? I will be close to that area on the 6th during the afternoon as I am going up 169 on my way to Duluth (starting in Buffalo). If nothing else, maybe we can all get together the evening of the 7th if everyone is back from week end plans? Let me know. Snowflake, You and Ry are more than welcome to come stay at my place for the festival. I have already placed my order so they will be waiting for me when I get back! They are so much fun to watch in the microwave!! Also, I have a 1/2 case of TP in the closet so you don't even have to bring your own!! God Bless, MO
  3. Hope you have a wonderful time! God Bless, MO
  4. Watch out Minnesota folks, MO is on the way!!! Well , I WILL be on the way on the 3rd of June! I am coming up for a few days to visit some friends and do a few things that I have been wanting to do. I will arrive either Thursday night late or Friday morning early and would love to get together with those members who are able to! Friday night I am planning to get some friends together in Chaska for a mini - party that all would be welcome to also. Details can be PM'd if you think you might be able to make it. Saturday I am headed to my home town to take care of my Grandma and Grandpas graves and then I want to go to church in my old church Sunday morning. Sunday afternoon will find me in St. Cloud on my way to the North shore and then Monday I am back in the TwinCities and departing on Tuesday. All in all I will cover about 1000 miles of Minnesota but it will be so worth it! I have a girlfriend who will be traveling with me (she is blind so no help driving but she can call 911 if needed, lol) so I am sure we will have a good time. Saturday we are camping under the stars (I get back seat she gets front seat if it rains, lol) but the rest of the time we are staying with friends or family. This will be our adventure of the summer! I had hoped to drive up but a group of friends here has decided I can't drive that far by myself (oh yeahhh????) so they bought me a round trip ticket complete with a car rental while I was up there. They are so sweet!!! Anyway, a heads up ( I forged a hall pass ) that I will be off line from June 3 to June 9 or 10. I will miss you all and you WILL be in my prayers! Hope to get a chance to meet some of the Minnesota folks!!!!! Lets me know guys!! Love ya, MO
  5. I will be handing out information this week end at a Relay for Life Survivors "Pre" event. This is where we get a lunch (hot dogs??) and our tee shirts to wear in the survivors walk. Good chance to network with out having to do the actual walk, lol. Our walk is in Aug. Wish I could have made the Dallas event though!! Hand out what you can and lets get our name out there! God Bless your efforts! MO
  6. You and your Dad are in my prayers as always! Hope things turn around for him soon! You could use a break from wory! God Bless, MO
  7. Hope you have a wonderful time! Stay safe and let us know when you get back. I can give you a list of my friends in Vegas you can visit if ya like (I lived there for 10 years). God Bless, MO
  8. Have a wonderful day and best wishes to your son on his graduation! Milestones are important to all of us wheather it be making it till Monday or graduating from high school! I am glad things are working well for you! God Bless, MO
  9. Sounds like your Dad has pretty common side effects. I have them also but have been lucky the numbness has been minimal. I have a hard time walking any distance and have found all kinds of shorcuts through the hotel, lol. I even use the lil motorized grocery carts now if it gets to bad. Used one to go to the St Louis Zoo with my grandson and it was wonderful! Prayers of healing being sent your way! God Bless, MO
  10. Welcome to the family. I am sorry you have to be here but glad you found us. Chances are good someone here has gone through the same things you are so can answer any questions. The rest of us offer prayers and good wishes and they count too! Don't belives the statistics, they are WRONG! Have your Dr. get you something to help with the nausea (Ativan helped me and it helps you sleep). Depending on the type of cancer they may do a chemo / radiation combo or they may do surgery. In any case you have us all in your corner. God Bless and please keep in touch, MO
  11. I get Neupogen to keep my white cells up an Arenesp to help with my red cells. They both help alot. Have a wonderful time at the weddings! God Bless, MO
  12. God's Blessings on your journey! Come home safe. MO
  13. This has nothing to do with cancer but I have to share, lol. We have a new Oriental Buffet restaurant that opened about a month ago an it HAS to be one of the best restaurants I have been to in YEARS! It is $8.95 for all you can eat with about 20 entrees, rices, desserts, etc, but the big attraction is it includes peel and eat shrimp, 3 other types of shrimp AND CRAB LEGS!!!! My kids and I went there again tonight with my ex-in laws and I am SO FULL I am gonna splode all over the place, lol. It is amazing to find a place that good and that cheap anymore! Anyone who wants to come visit I will be happy to take you to dinner!!! We have been there 3 times in the month they have been open and I have eaten more crab in the past month than in the past 10 years! My grandson has decided HE likes crab also but he has a hard time "Crapping" the crab to get it out of the shell, lol. We are working on "Cracking" the crab but so far that isn't working either, lol. Anyway, open dinner invite to anyone who comes to MO!!! God Bless, MO

    another birthday

Happy Birthday Shordy! The "First's" are always the hardest. God Bless, MO
  18. I can so relate to this thread, lol. I am a group sales manager at a large resort hotel and the very 1st group I had after dx was Philip Morris! Boy it was hard to work that one, lol. I however, was professional, and didn't exactly blame the folks I dealt with for my lung cancer. I DID tell them about it however, lol. God Bless, MO
  19. The day from Hades................ I woke up this morning feeling like Snowflakes beer truck ran over me! I am still fighting some type of bug and it got the best of me last night. Didn't sleep more than an hour or two all night. Anyway, I got dressed (slowly) and made it over to the hospital for my refill. Nurses took one look at me and said I was just in time, lol. I was spiking a fever all day so they kept giving me stuff to try and deal with that in addition to my blood. I have more energy since the transfusion but I still feel crappy from whatever I am fighting. One nurse seems to think I have a sinus infection and another seems to think I have a kidney infection. Neither one showed up on the tests they ran today so who knows whats going on, lol. I didn't go to work after I was done, I came home and tried to sleep but the phone would NOT STOP! People from work, people from church, my kids, all calling to see how I was doing, lol (I don't dare turn it off or they will COME over to check on me). To top it off my Son called to tell me my ex inlaws showed up out of the blue for a 4 day visit on their way from Nevada to Minnesota! I guess we are all going to go to dinner tomorrow night (if I am up to it). Well, I am going to load myself up on meds and see if I can't get some sleep tonight. Thank you all for the good wishes and prayers! God Bless, MO
  20. The silly thing is I feel GREAT! I just don't have the energy or stamina God gave a sea slug, lol. Makes it that much worse cause I WANT to do things I just can't right now. I am sure I will be feeling 1000% better by this time tomorrow and thanks for the good wiahes! God Bless, MO
  21. These things mean so much to kids ! I remember (as a Mom) we had 8 lizards, 2 tarantulas, a pack rat and a horned toad all collected by my son. My daughter was more in to domestic animals so she had 2 kittens (which ATE the pack rat and lizards) . As a kid I collected a nest of garter snakes (about 100) and was REALLY upset when my Mom wouldn't let me keep all of them . Hope you have a lot of fun with watching them change! God Bless, MO
  22. After spending a weekend not being able to do squat, I had them check my counts today and it looks like I am a couple of pints low again. HGB was down to 8.5 so we are going to do a transfusion at 7am tomorrow. I always get a kick out of the gals in Out Patient at the hospital when I go for my morning shots cause they always ask if I think I am going to need anything else. They know that I know when I need something and they are so good about helping me out. This morning they went ahead and drew the blood for a CBC and type and cross THEN called the Dr for the order after his office opened, lol. As long as I was there for my shot they didn't want me to have to come back later for the draw. It sure makes this whole process easier when you have great people to deal with! God Bless, MO
  23. I get pain across the middle of my back from the Carbo/Taxol combo. I take Darvocet when I need to (1 or 2 a day). God Bless, MO
