My Dr. told me at my very first visit that limited sclc can be "cured". He said he has had people who have remained cancer free for several years when caught early and treated. I don't know if that was to get MY hopes up or not but it has always ben in the back of my mind.
Prayers for you and your family.

I had Chemo (5 rounds, 3 weeks apart), radiation treatments (31, 5days a week for 6 weeks) and when that was all done I did 15 PCI treatments (5 days a week for 3 weeks). As for side effects of the PCI, I lost my hair, have very short term memory loss (forget what I walked in the other room for), I find myself thinking more about what I am saying (not a bad thing, lol), I still tire very easily and I have a slight vision problem which may or may not get better with time.
All in all I would say GO FOR IT if it is offered. My Dr. told me they only do it for folks who have a "better than average" chance of survival.

I was able to drive myself to chemo and radiation but I was lucky and had very FEW side effects from either. I had several friends offer to drive me but it was something I wanted to do myself. My rad. Dr. was a 60 mile drive each way so it gave me a lot of time to listen to the christian radio station and "talk" to God. I couldn't have done that if I was riding with someone else. Everyone is different however.

Just wanted to let you know I will be off line from tomorrow afternoon until sometime on the 11th or 12th. I will be out of town for business and I don't think I will have access to a computer.
Hope you all have a great week!!
