    Organ Donations

I am marked as a donor on my license also. They said I can't donate "major" parts but my eyes and some tissues can be used. Heck, once I am done with them I would hope someone else could get some use out of them. God Bless, MO
  2. You got it!! God Bless, MO

    No Pantyhose

I like the part about being able to eat what I want , when I want! I still have the dang pantyhose and heels and wear make up to work but not as much as I used to. I make more time for family things than I used to. If it comes to doing dishes or playing Spiderman with Kayden you will find this grandma on the floor with Spiderman (course someone has to help me UP off the floor but hey)!!! (((((Shelli))))) Just like a parent, sometimes God answers No to the prayers we send him. It is ok to get mad at him (he's Dad after all) because no matter what he will always love US. The only thing I can offer is to talk to God. Tell him what you are feeling and how much it hurts and then LISTEN to what he has to tell you. He may have something special in mind for you. You are in my prayers sweetie! God bless, MO
  5. I "smell" my grandmother sometimes also. Her house had a very distinctive smell when she did laundry and the other day I was walking through a part of the hotel I don't usually visit when THAT smell hit me so hard I almost had to sit down. I found out later that the laundry area vented close to where I was so it was a laundry smell but it was just like being at Grandma's on laundry day. I also have "smelled" my other grandma once or twice (her combination of perfume and powder). I don't seem to have dreams of my parents but I do know they are always with me and I still talk to them when I need to. I am sure that your Dad is in a better place Berisa and he is smiling on you and the love you have for him. God Bless, MO
  6. Welcome to the Family! What a beautiful baby! Sounds like they caught things pretty early and you have a wonderful chance of beating this beast! Prayers for clean scans headed your way! God Bless, MO
  7. I had major problems with swallowing (lost 70#) but they went away a couple of weeks after treatment was done. Carafate and the Majic Mouthwash helped some but I mainly ate room temp soups, mashed taters, jello, soft foods. I made sure to drink at LEAST 2 liters of WATER a day (usually 3 or more) to avoid the dehydration. Prayers of healing sent your way. God Bless, MO
  8. Welcome to THIS family! I am sorry you have the need to be here but glad you found us. First off, throw the statistics OUT the window cause they don't mean cra*. As long as your step Dad is breathing there is HOPE! New drugs come out, new treatments, clinical trials, there are many different options out there. If you want to go see him.....GO. I have found that this is the time to do the things you may have put off in the past. Live each day like it is the last and LOVE those around you like you will never see them again! No one is guaranteed a tomorrow. Prayers for strength and healing being sent your way! God Bless, MO
  9. Good Morning All! I feel 100% better this morning! I think it was just a quick case of who knows what! Left work about 2 yesterday, went home and slept for a couple of hours, went to a church council meeting last night and came home and went back to bed, lol. Slept like a rock all night (with the help of a sleep aid) and woke up this morning feeling wonderful! Thank you all for the prayers and good wishes (thats what made me feel better I am sure!!). God Bless, MO
  10. Welcome to the family. Please know that you are in our prayers. Glad you were lead back to the truth and the light! I hope you can find a medical team that will be as aggessive as you need to be to fight the beast! God Bless, MO

  14. Welcome Addie, I am sorry you had to seek us out but so glad you found us! This is such a great group of people! I also have sclc so if you have any questions I would be happy to help in any way I can. Jump in, ask questions, share your knowledge, just be one of the family! God bless, MO
  15. Elaine, I have told them about the fever and they feel it is a bug that is going around here also. Taking a couple of different meds and ready for a nap NOW!!!!, lol. I am just happy that it is an illness rather than the alternative cause I ain't READY for that yet!! I actually get more "rest" at work since I sit at a desk and work on the internet and telephone all day, lol, so as long as I can stay awake I am probably better off here. Thanks guys for the support! God Bless, MO
  16. Ok, how silly does THAT statement sound????? I woke up this morning feeling like I was on my last legs. Had to take a break brushing my teeth, getting dressed took 20 minutes, had to rest after walking to my car. EVERYTHING hurt, hips, shoulders, eyes, hair (what little there is of it). First thing I did was take my temp and it was 98.8, now I am scared. My short term "goal" is to make it to my birthday (5/24/04) and I had the distinct feeling I wasn't going to make it. I went to hospital to get my morning neupogen shot and when they asked how I was feeling I was honest and said like cra*. The nurse looked at me cause I am always feeling good and always joke with them. She gave me my shot and it took 5 minutes to do a 2 minute walk back to my car. After "resting" in the car I was able to continue on to work (yeah I know I should have gone home but I had a travel writer to meet this morning so I came in). Met my travel writer and his wife and took them to breakfast (yummy). Spent an hour with them going over a portion of the property (in a golf cart!!) and actually had a nice time as the weather is PERFECT!! After the visit I came back to my office with the intentention of getting in my car and heading home. WRONG!!!!! I had a voice mail that my daughter had come and taken my car as hers had to go in the shop for a repair and she hoped I didn't mind! I am giving away a 24 year old to the FIRST taker!!!! I called her and she said it would be about 2pm before her car was ready. I hate to have her drive all the way over here to pick me up (almost 30 miles round trip) when we have to come get her car just 2 miles down the road. I told her I would stick it out in my office but to ask if they couldn't hurry, lol. In the mean time, I took my temp again and it is 100.2!!!!!!! Yeahhhhhhhhhhh I am actually SICK!!!!!!!! (In more ways than one I think, lol). Anyway, I have taken some meds and I am taking it easy and as soon as my daughter comes back I am going home to go to BED!!!!! Hope you are all haveing a blessed day!!! God Bless, MO
  17. I started with a chest x-ray, a CT scan, a broncoscopy, an MRI and then a Bone Scan. Since that time I have had chest x-rays and CT scans of the chest and abdomen every month. God Bless, MO
  18. Peg, There are no words that can take away the pain. Please know that we are praying for you and only time will lessen the terrible pain you feel right now. Please vent, cry or what ever it takes to help you deal with the day. You and your family are in my prayers. God Bless, MO
  19. Addie, Welcome to the family. I am sorry you have to be here but I am sure we can help you deal with this beast! My suggestion would be to consult with another oncologist at the EARLIEST possible date. SCLC can double in size in a months time and you sure don't need that! I don't know what part of the country you are in or how close you are to a cancer center but I would try and get someplace asap and get treatment started. Prayers for healing and strength being sent your way. God Bless, MO
  20. Welcome Kelly. I have not heard of anything that can test for the possibility of getting cancer, sorry. In most cases it is found by accident when looking for somethig else. As Katie said, there are few symptoms. God Bless, MO
  21. I had chemo and radiation at the same time so I don't know if my info is what you are looking for. I also have sclc and the combination killed the original tumor (I have since gotten mets to the liver but the original tumor is DEAD). Side effects from my radiation were fatigue, problems with my esophogus (went away after treatment was done). I continued to work all the way through treatment (am still working) so it wasn't toooo bad, lol. You have to decide what you think is best for YOU. For me, the decision was to be as aggressive as possible the first time around. The combination did put me in to remission (stability) for several months while I did PCI also. Prayers for strength and healing being sent your way. God Bless, MO
  22. Enjoy your time away and come back when you are ready. We all need time to regroup once in awhile. Hope you get to spend some quality time with that new hubby!!! God Bless, MO
  23. Sorry sweetie, no info but you DO have my prayers! God bless, MO
  24. Rick, I also have been "tapped" a couple of times and I guess I have been lucky since they have not hit a nerve! The pain I feel is gone 15 - 20 minutes after the procedure is completed. Both times they have taken almost 2 liters of fluid and now have said the next time they want to do a talc procedure to close off the "sack" so I don't have to do this again. I would be happy to give any other info to the newbie that I could. They can feel free to PM me if they like. God Bless, MO
