  1. Marsha glad you came I need to see long term go getters (survivors).. I'm dealing with my hubby being just dx.
  2. I sure could use a e mail buddy who has a loved one going through lung cancer.
  3. It was fun being a baby boomer - until now. Some of the artists of the '60s are revising their hits with new lyrics to accommodate, once again, the baby boomers. They include: Herman's Hermits -- Mrs. Brown, You've Got a Lovely Walker The Bee Gees -- How Can You Mend a Broken Hip Bobby Darin -- Splish, Splash, I Was Havin' a Flash Ringo Starr -- I Get By With a Little Help From Depends Roberta Flack --The First Time Ever I Forgot Your Face Johnny Nash -- I Can't See Clearly Now Paul Simon -- Fifty Ways to Lose Your Liver The Commodores -- Once, Twice, Three Times to the Bathroom Marvin Gaye -- Heard It Through the Grape Nuts Leo Sayer -- You Make Me Feel Like Napping The Temptations -- Papa's Got a Kidney Stone Abba -- Denture Queen Tony Orlando -- Knock 3 Times On The Ceiling If You Hear Me Fall Helen Reddy -- I Am Woman, Hear Me Snore Willie Nelson -- On the Commode Again

    Thank you

Ned, I have strong feelings on this too... I was told 30 years that I only had 4 weeks to live...then 5 years ago I was told they only give me 3. I feel he will be stronger and more positive if he doesn't ask because it will always be in the back of his mind what they THINK... I will have a talk with him before his app. and see what he wants to do.

    Thank you

What you all have wrote to me so far as already been helpful.. I have to thank you from the bottom of my heart. My hubby went out last night with a friend and did guy stuff...went to drag races and a car show..he had a great time.... today he is mowing the yard and doing a few things around here.. He has alot of fight in him that's for sure.. I'm just scared the doctor will take away his hope when he gets the biopsy report with news like ..you have 6 months and with treatment 8 maybe. I'm thinking not have the doctor say a word and just go for the treatments. have to ask hubby what he wants to know or doesn't want to know. Thanks everyone!
  6. I guess this is the message board I should cry on.. My husband of 35 years (he is 56) just found out he has lung cancer last week... he broke his rib 3 weeks ago and the chest x-ray show "something" on his right lung...he got a CT scan done was told yep there is a 1 inch mass. he goes in for his biopsy this Wed... I'm so scared and so is he. we both are depressed..our world just crashed. I pray he will do well and survive long... His Mom was a 12 year survivor. He wants to "try" and keep working through all his treatments so we can keep his insurance and not lose everything but I don't know about that. he has a hard job.
  7. Thank you all... yep he is very depressed (and me too).. he goes Fri. to the Doctor I will ask for some "happy pills". He wants to keep working his job and do the treatments, he is scared of us losing everything... all this is so overwhelming that I can only take one day at a time. I'm worried he has it in his rib, he fractured his rib 3 weeks ago and that's how we found out. nothing has been said about met to rib and he has had 2 x-rays and a CT scan so far. I'm a 2 time cancer survivor myself so I know there is always hope. P.S. sorry if I misspell .I'm lost without spell check.
  8. Hi all.. I was reading the message board and have seen some great success stories. My hubby who 56 just found out he has cancer in his upper right lung... He just had a CT scan done and will be getting a biospy this Wed. so we have no clue what is all going on yet. Deep depression has set in and we are just in shock.. His Mom had lung cancer and survived 12 years after treatments, I'm hoping he will do the same. I sure could use some support.
