  3. Good Thursday to all. Still in the storm and grateful for surviving till now. Easter Day will be beautiful and the first one under snow. Still remember those little straw hats we were so proud to wear on Easter Day when we were young, will have to wear a tuque this year and a winter coat, weather will be 8 degree only....and may have to wear snow shoes to move around... but grateful to be here. ------------------ Happiness is a perfume you cannot pour on others without getting a few drops on yourself. 9. Good morning all, just under the snow again, the snow storm started during the night and will finish for Easter morning......four days. Can't take much more of the winter, but still count myself lucky because the roof still ok. Many roofs collapsed during the last days and schools are closed while the roofs are getting scraped of six feet of accumulated snow. Could say it is the worst winter I remember and it is not finished yet. Grateful that I may be able to go to volunteer work on foot, at least I'll will try it is downhill, that is the easy part....coming back will be harder. ------------- You can always tell a real friend: when ypu've made a fool of yourself, he doesn't think you've done a permanent job. 22. Got disgusted with ''Garage Sales'' when we went to one in the country and found out that people were selling articles that they had ''BEG'' us to give to them.......... I had a field day telling people what I was thinking of them. Mike even wanted to buy back some of our own stuff......... We moved happily from there. Jackie

  24. Ann, you could try this. Ireland Corned Beef & Cabbage in Ale 2-3 pound cut of corned beef 24 ounces ale (Samuel Smith Nut Brown Ale) 2 carrots, cut into chunks 12 small red potatoes 4 onions, peeled and quartered 1 teaspoon dry mustard (Colman's) 1 large sprig thyme (optional) 1 head cabbage, quartered Place the beef in a large pot with the ale, carrots, potatoes, onions, mustard and thyme (if using). Add just enough cold water to cover. Bring to a boil and simmer gently 1-1/2 to 2 hours. Halfway through, check the vegetables: when they are tender, remove them and set aside. Add the cabbage quarters and cook until tender, about 15 to 30 minutes. When the meat is tender, return all vegetables to the pot and reheat. Serve the meat in slices, surrounded by the vegetables and broth.
