    accident

To my darling husband, Before you return from your business trip I just want to let you know about the small accident I had with the pick up truck when I turned into the driveway. Fortunately not too bad and I really didn't get hurt, so please don't worry too much about me. I was coming home from Wal-Mart, and when I turned into the driveway I accidentally pushed down on the accelerator instead of the brake. The garage door is slightly bent but the pick up fortunately came to a halt when it bumped into your car. I am really sorry, but I know with your kind-hearted personality you will forgive me. You know how much I love you and care for you my sweetheart. I cannot wait to hold you in my arms again. Your loving wife. XXX P.S. Your girlfriend called ----------- Will see if it works. Jackie

    Been a While...

Missy, Even after thirty years since my Mom died, I have those days that tears wakes me up and stay for the day. Always get the feeling that I lost my youth identity when mo mother died and my adult identity when my husband died. Missy, you are doing well after nine months, you will always miss your Mom, but all that is normal, you loved her and now she is gone. You will have better days when you will miss her as much but those days will be easier on you. Hugs Jackie
  11. We were wondering about you. Sorry you are having a tough time, prayers will be there for you. Keep us posted on the results of the scans, please. Jackie
  12. I love this Doctor ! Q: I've heard that cardiovascular exercise can prolong life; is this true? A: Your heart is only good for so many beats, and that 's it... don't waste them on exercise. Everything wears out eventually. Speeding up your heart will not make you live longer; that's like saying you can extend the life of your car by driving it faster. Want to live longer? Take a nap. Q: Should I cut down on meat and eat more fruits and vegetables? A: You must grasp logistical efficiencies. What does a cow eat? Hay and corn. And what are these? Vegetables. So a steak is nothing more than an efficient mechanism of delivering vegetables to your system. Need grain? Eat chicken. Beef is also a good source of field grass (green leafy vegetable). And a pork chop can give you 100% of your recommended daily allowance of vegetable products. Q: Should I reduce my alcohol intake? A: No, not at all. Wine is made from fruit. Brandy is distilled wine, that means they take the water out of the fruity bit so you get even more of the goodness that way. Beer is also made out of grain. Bottoms up! Q: How can I calculate my body/fat ratio? A: Well, if you have a body and you have fat, your ratio is one to one. If you have two bodies, your ratio is two to one, etc. Q: What are some of the advantages of participating in a regular exercise program? A: Can't think of a single one, sorry. My philosophy is: No Pain...Good! Q: Aren't fried foods bad for you? A: YOU'RE NOT LISTENING!!! .... Foods are fried these days in vegetable oil. In fact, they're permeated in it. How could getting more vegetables be bad for you? Q: Will sit-ups help prevent me from getting a little soft around the middle? A: Definitely not! When you exercise a muscle, it gets bigger. You should only be doing sit-ups if you want a bigger stomach. Q: Is chocolate bad for me? A: Are you crazy? HELLO Cocoa beans! Another vegetable!!! It's the best feel-good food around! Q: Is swimming good for your figure? A: If swimming is good for your figure, explain whales to me. Q: Is getting in-shape important for my lifestyle? A: Hey! 'Round' is a shape! Well, I hope this has cleared up any misconceptions you may have had about food and diets. And remember: 'Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways - Chardonnay in one hand - chocolate in the other - body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming 'WOO HOO, What a Ride' AND..... For those of you who watch what you eat, here's the final word on nutrition and health. It's a relief to know the truth after all those conflicting nutritional studies. 1. The Japanese eat very little fat and suffer fewer heart attacks than Americans. 2. The Mexicans eat a lot of tortillas and suffer fewer heart attacks than Americans. 3. The Chinese drink very little red wine and suffer fewer heart attacks than Americans. 4. The Italians drink a lot of red wine and suffer fewer heart attacks than Americans. 5. The Germans drink a lot of beers and eat lots of sausages and fats and suffer fewer heart attacks than Americans. CONCLUSION Eat and drink what you like. Speaking English is apparently what kills you. ---------------- Jackie
  13. Good morning all, another snow storm is starting for us. Still hoping it is the last one of this winter....at least hope is free. Grateful that I can keep a good sense of humor to get me through the good and bad days. So much fun laughing at myself that I can't get bore. ------------------ Start every day off with a smile and get it over with (W.C. 16. Hello all, beautiful sunshine today, just will be long enough to make us think of spring before the next snow storm makes a worst mess later this week. Grateful for the afternoon of volunteer work I did yesterday. What a difference from four years ago when I started working there, the work is about the same with some improvement in the place, but those four years were very hard on me........can't do half the work I was able to do in 2004. The open arms welcome I got made my day. -------------------- People are constantly warned not to overdo. It is only be overdoing sometimes that we learn how much we can do. Very good news, when is the celebration^ Jackie
  21. Randy, My name was in a class action about cancer, glad I did even if no money won. The protocol for treating cancer patient was changed for the best, so a good win anyway. No work at all abut it, you just fill the papers sent to you and they contact you when they pass in court, you could go or stay out and still the class action will keep on. It is mostly for those that may be prescribed the drug in the future, they will know both sides of the medal before they take it. It is like preventing more death from over dosing patients. Good luck in that. Jackie
  22. Good Monday morning to all. Starting another week, may as well make it a good one. The storm is finished for a few days, not up to that kind of weather anymore, getting old finally or age catching up with me. Grateful that I finished all the work I brought home, so the other volunteers will have supplies ready to start their week. ------------- It's okay to acknowledge our imperfections--wouldn't it be dull if we all were perfect? (?) ----------- That is why life is never dull around me. ----------- Wrinkles merele show where smiles have been. (?) ----------- Must have smiled without stop when I look at my wrinkles. Have a good day. Jackie
  23. Glad that you will be able to get some furniture and souvenirs from the main house, sure your mother will be there to help you in your choice. The lake house should be for the family and one way to make him think would be to bring up the gain taxes that he would be responsible because it takes five years before it could be considered his main home.....part time use may not cover him if ever he wants to sell it to move to Florida full time. Or follow Ry's ideas for the lake house. I know you are not doing this for money but better put both view in front of him and go from there. Wishing you the best on D-Day. Jackie
