  1. Hey Bruce,

We sure do need all the GOOD NEWS we can get around here. Congratulations on the GOOD NEWS! :D:D:D

Isn't fun to still beable to graduate at our age?

  2. Yes Randy, Kasey is right. I called Judy last winter and learned she had passed away. I did post that information to the board. (I think) I think it was Jan or Feb that I called.

  3. I've never seen an ad like that up here in Minnesota....unless, are these paid commercials that are doing that? It's all about making a fast buck these days. Don't know if there is anything that can be done to stop them, but it is dishearting to know someone is out there trying to make money off of very sick people.

  4. Hey Judy, I was going to tell you to up your ONE glass of red wine to TWO glasses a night.:wink: Clink, Clink, I'll have a glass with you. You'll be amazed how fast that pain can go

    away! :shock::wink::lol:

Virg, I am sorry your having this pain, but for me to beable to help you best, it would be nice if you could give us a little more information. How did your cyberknife go? Are the doctor's confindent that they got your cancer. The tumor could be resting on something to cause pain if they didn't get it all. Do you know where in your lung your tumor is located? We really need to have more information to help us better understand your situation. Will be awaiting your info.

  5. NED is good news Tami. My left side is filled with fluid too. That happened after my lung was removed too.

Sorry to say, your the one who is going to have to do all the leg work to make sure they find out what's wrong. Don't let up until you have an answer. Even if it takes 20 doctor's to find one. I know how that feels, been there, done that!

Good Luck and Happy NED! Do you have a Pulm Doc? Might want him to read the CT too. Just to be sure! My PCP won't do it, he turns it over to my Pulm Doc to deal with it.

    Best wishes.

  6. Oh no, I so had hoped she was going to beable to go home to her family.:cry::cry:

Sandra was a wonderful friend to many LCSC members and boy will she ever be missed. This is heartbreaking.

  7. Oh wow, the way you discribe it brings back a few memories with a couple of my surgeries. One being my lung, and 4 others being my heart. Flip flop across the parking lot. WOW girl, I did the same thing.

This is AWESOME, WONDERFUL, HAPPY DANCE NEWS! Congratulations my 9 year friend. You keep it up, your going to catch up to me. Just keep on keepin on!

    Big Happy Hugs,

    Connie

  8. Dear Patti,

I am so very happy to hear you reached Patrick and that your conversation with him went well. I know you mentioned the frist two didn't seem to go so well. I am very glad it all worked out. As I mentioned, sometimes we just don't know how far we should push ourselves onto family members that don't know us. It all worked well.

I'm very happy to see she is doing well and I too am happy she was in the hospital having a blood clot. God is watching over her. As are all her dear friends are.

Sending Get Well Wishes to Sandra!!!

  9. Hi Richard,

I am so sorry your having such a horrible time. I too wish I had some magic to spread around to make you feel better.

I can tell you this, there are many of us out here that have walked the same walk you are and the good news is, we are still here years later to talk about it. The treatments is far from a cakewalk, but we do survive because of them.

I will also make mention that this is also a roller-coast ride of emotions. The highs and lows are overwhelming at times. Please know you can come here and someone will relate and/or understand exactly what your saying. Your NOT ALONE! (((((Richard))))).

Is this your last chemo? Is so, then you should be on the upside of this ride. It's a slow go to getting back up to the top, but you can do it. Your body needs rest and you need to allow it that rest. This is one baby step at at time, but we'll all do what we can to get you through it.

Sending you postivie vibes and good wishes that you will be feeling better everyday.

  10. Here I am better late then never!

    This honestly IS a CELEBRATION!!!

I never pass up a day I can celebrate. They don't come that often so we have to eat them up when they DO come!:wink::D

    I wish for you my friend, many 5, 5, 5, 5, 5, 5, more years.

This is YOUR DAY and only YOUR DAY, go with it and be proud of how far you have come and all the walls you jumped to get here. (and you wonder why you have a bad back?)

Congratulations! You Made it. It was/is God's Plan!

  11. Dear Val,

I have one more celeberty to add to this list. Henry Gibson pass away on Monday too. I'm sure you and your mom knew who he was. Story below.

Most celeberties don't get to me emotionally either, unless they hit my memory buttons. When they are part of my memories or my loved ones, then I get choked up. I understand your feelings. (((VAL)))

Sadly enough, all these that have passed in the last week and one that hasn't were or are fighting some kind of cancer. :(

    Hugs to you,

    Connie

Veteran comedian and character actor Henry Gibson has passed away. He was 73.

According to the actor's son James, Gibson died Monday at his home in Malibu, CA after a brief battle with cancer, reports the Associated Press.

Gibson was perhaps best known for reciting offbeat poetry on "Rowan & Martin's Laugh-In" on TV in the late '60s and early '70s. He also appeared in such films as 'The Long Goodbye,' 'The 'Burbs' opposite Tom Hanks, 'Wedding Crashers' and 'Nashville,' which earned him a Golden Globe nomination.

He also voiced Wilbur the Pig in the animated version of "Charlotte's Web." In addition to his recent TV stint as the irritable Judge Clark Brown on ABC's "Boston Legal" and steady work on shows ranging from "Knight Rider" to "Malcolm in the Middle," Gibson had a memorable role in the 1980's 'The Blues Brothers' as an Illinois neo-nazi leader.

Gibson is survived by three sons and two grandchildren.

  12. I just wanted everyone to know that I will be copying all your warm and kind messages regarding Wendy and will be taking them to her family tomorrow when I attend the Wake.

As you all know, Wendy was a part of LCSC for almost 5 years. She loved you all and did her best to help others over the years.

Muriel, Wendy just mentioned about a month ago when you came to town and we all went to lunch. She was so thrilled to meet someone else from LCSC. :)

She also got to meet Katie and she loved all that Katie has done on behalf of lung cancer.

Thank you everyone, I'm sure her family will find comfort in your warm and caring replies. I thank those who thought of me as well during this difficult time. I wish you all could have met Wendy in person. She was a fighter and she left us with grace and dignity and a smile on her face.

    God Bless,

    Connie

  13. I wish you 5 more, and 5 more, and 5 more, and 5 more................. :D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D

Congratulations My Dear Friend! I know this has not aways been an easy journey for you, but you sure have done a good job of being a SURVIVOR!!!! They use to say, "You've come a long ways baby!"

    Rock On Girlfriend!

    Love & hugs,

    Connie
