  2. I sadly have to share with everyone that we have lost a dear member and friend, our dear Wendy has passed away this afternoon.

I am feeling very sad right now but will share more information when I learn it.

She will be dearly missed by me and by so many others. My Lunch Buddy has left me.:cry::cry::cry::cry::cry::cry::cry:

Keep Wendy's family in your prayers.

  3. On our Local News station they just reported that (who ever approved this N1H1 flu shot) has decided "Adults will only need ONE shot rather then Two Shots as they previously thought. They feel confident that One shot will do it."

The shots will be available next month is what our news just said.

  4. I got my regular Flu Shot yesterday at Walgreens. I asked the Pharmacists who gave me my shot what he thought about this N1H1 flu shot. His reply was pretty simple. He said, " I don't know. They don't know. No one no's what will happen or if this flu shot will help with the flu or not." Then he sighed and said, "We honestly just don't know." I tend to believe that.

I asked my PCP about it, and he said, he didn't know if I should get the shot or not. He did say in my case he wanted me to check with my Cardiologist and my Pulmonoligist and see what they think as well.

I honestly think the media is making this a LOT more HYPE then it may be, but it's also one of those things that there damned if they do, or damned if they don't.

  5. I honestly think you can find this information on the NCI website. There are so many studies today, that it's hard to keep up with them all. And you never know which ones are doing a study for the money or for fact reasons.

    Hugs,

    Connie

  6. There is a study that does state the % of non smoker, ex-smoker, smokers but I don't know right now where it is. It did state there are MORE ex-smokers that get lung cancer. That's from an older study, because I have heard this over seveal years now.

  7. Well, I am doing as well as I can be doing under the circumstances. I just had a Borhochsopy done about 4 weeks ago to see if these new nodules in my lung are cancer. The report came back saying they are NOT cancer at this time. No No No No cancer!

I've had some bumpy roads, but all concidered, I am doing well Thank for Your Asking. Moving much slower, but non the less, moving!

    Hugs,

    Conni

  8. NancyB is the person that Ginny is talking about you might want to do a search on her past posts. NancyB has since passed away.

I have heard of a few over the years with both, but I have to say, I think they were dx.d WITH BOTH and not like your dads.

I would like to suggest talking this over with Dr. West.

Good luck to your dad, you and your family.

  9. Hey Dana,

After reading over your profile info, I just have to ask, are you sure you have SMALL CELL LUNG CANCER and not Non Small Cell Lung cancer?

Chemo is number one treatment in treating small cell , even after sugeries. What you discribe sounds more like non small cell then small cell.

All those that I know who did PCI did it maybe a month or two or three maybe even 4 months after completing chemo.

Do you get a copy of your reports after you meet with your doc's? It might be worth your while to look into doing this is you don't already.

If you don't have a copy of your dx's report, I would ask for one. I would get all my reports from the day you were dx'd.

  10. Oh Sandra,

I am so very sorry to hear all this. There are no words that I can say that will make this all go away for you. God knows we all want this monster to go away. It does sadden me that you are having to deal with all this garble. It's just never fair.

Please know you and your family have always been in my throughts and prayers each and everyday and will continue to be.

I sure hope you have a GREAT trip! Good for you going on a cruise! :D Try and leave the cancer at home and go and ENJOY! I'm sure that's exactly what you'll do.
