  1. For sinus the only thing I know that works for me and others I've share this with is "warm saltwater" up your nose. You can put this in a spray bottle and it does clean out your sinuses and is completely safe. My father-in-law swore by this and he got me into doing it a long time ago. I've since passed it on to many that swear by it. You can do this as many times a day as needed and it won't harm you.

When I started to do this, I was told to take salt and put it in a glass of warm water. Cup one of your hands and pour some of the saltwater into your hand. Bend over a sink and sniff the saltwater up your nose.:shock: Be prepared for a little mess and a little shock to the system, but once you do it, you get the hang of it. But, I now have a nasal spray bottle that works well.

I was on my prednisone for 6 or 8 weeks maybe it was 8 weeks when I had penumonitis. That was many moons ago for me. But I know I put on the pounds being on it. But it did clear up my lung pneumonitis problems and took away my SOB. As for the sinus issues, are they saying that's part of the pneumonitis? :? I've never heard of that one before.

I sure hope your feeling better soon. I know I have been dealing with some new allergies (something I've never had before) and they haven't been bad, but they haven't been fun either. Salt is working for me.

Good Luck and Get Well Soon.

  2. "cornstarch" My mother, and two sisters worked in Nursing Homes and they used and still do use Cornstarch for bed sores, etc. It dries them out and allows them to heal. Creams only keep these sores soft and smelly and open.

My mother started to get bed sores and a sore in her groin area near the end of her journey, and we did cornstarch and it worked like a charm.

When I had my last heart surgery 17 months ago, I also started to get bedsores and the hospital used cornstarch too. Just pour it on like power.

    God bless and good luck.

  3. Hi Donny,

I'm sorry to hear your still having to deal with it. I had it too, but my doc's put me on prednisone and that did the trick for me. I had it for about 6 weeks. Maybe they need to up your meds. I know with me, they were concerned it may not go away, but I was lucky enough that it did. I had shortness of breath with it and man did that knock me on my butt being SOB.

Hope this will clear up for you real soon.

  4. So VERY HAPPY the end results of this (doctor/jackass) story turned out as good as it has.

HOWEVER, you NEED to copy exactly what you wrote to us and give it to management at your clinic. This is NOT in ANYWAY, SHAPE or FORM how any Onc Doc or ANY DOC should act. Please don't let this happen to someone else with him. He needs to be stopped dead in his tracks.

Congratulations on the GOOD NEWS! ! ! ! ! Happy Dance Time!

I sure hope your feeling better too.

  11. Welcome Donny,

Sorry you needed to find us, but I'm glad you did. You'll find alot of good info here and ton's of support from some great people.

Take a minute and read over my story below my signiture. I know all to well about family history. But I have also learned this disease is beatable and treatable, which is something I never thought to be true.

Look forward to getting to know you.

  12. Randy and Friends,

I just tried to call our friend Bucky and her voicemail mailbox is full and will not take anymore messages. It did say I could leave my phone number and I did do that.

I know Bucky was going to spend time with her mother and I am hopeful that is where she may be. I will continue to try and reach her via phone and/or email.

  13. Dear Snappy and Friends,

I thought I would make one last effort and try calling the Numbers Judy gave me and I did reach a family member at the home # Judy gave me. The family member told me Judy passed away January 25, 2009. I told her family member I would share this news with our members at LCSC.

  14. Dear Snappy,

I turned over all 3 phone numbers I had for Judy to Katie about 3 or so months ago when you first asked about her. Katie did make mention that these kinds of calls are the hardest calls to make (I totally agree) when our friends don't post on the board for a few months. But, having said that, Katie did say she did try all (3) phone numbers I gave her to her and none of them are working numbers.

Judy use to live in Oklahoma, but I think she moved in with her son in Florida, but that was a while back. And my brain doesn't remember things well.

The last post from Judy was Dec 3, 2008 and she had asked for our prayers while she started her WBR treatments.

Judy has a very common name "Judy Smith". So, I don't know what to tell you. It won't be easy finding her unless someone stayed in close touch with her.

Sorry! Wish I had more information for you. We have SO MANY MANY members who have gone missing. The list is long. Prayers for these great people is about all we can do at times. (sigh)

  15. Randy, I did talk to Bucky about 3 months ago. My Husband and I have been traveling for the winter, and we just got home 3 weeks ago. I will call Bucky's home today. Will keep you all informed.

  16. This is very sad news. Nancy fought her cancer with grace and dignity and head on. Peace be with her. Comfort be with her family during this difficult time. You will be missed Nancy!.
