Today my Husband & I will leave for Portland to have my right hip checked out. It has been bothering me & I can't live by Morphine alone. I will see both my oncologists on Monday. Please pray hard for it to be no big deal. Here's hoping you are all doing well. Please pray for me. Rachel

Karen, I'm embarrassed to say this is the firt that I hear about David's passing. I just hadn't read the correct board. You went through a tuff time with your David. Had my bone scan today & then my visit with PCP.My hip lit up but only in the spot that he had given me a steroid shot so he thinks that made it light up. So tomorrow I will have an MRI in that spot to rule out nasties. Please help me pray for a good report. The pain has been bad so he changed my pain meds. Someone from didability called him & asked if I was able to lift 50 #'s for a job!!! He couldn't stop laughing. Hope you are all doing well. Rachel

Cindy I bartended for many years & never 86ed myself, How did you manage??!!! You are a sketch!! Tomorrow I will get an early contrast shot @0800 then back at 1100 for the bone scan. then to the pcp at 1:30. busy day. Heres hoping for a good one. The best to all of you. I am nervous. Jen, That is great news!!! You deserve it. The pain in my R leg is still happening. What a bugger. Always worst first thing in the AM. I am hoping to be rid of this soon. Doing physical therapy. It is difficult due to the pain I have though, but, I must keep working at it. More good luck to you. Rachel

I sware I felt energy right when the transfusions started. It was such a quick boost.

I found no change in my nails. If anything I think they became harder. They are so hard I can't bend them. And the toe nails. Wow, I have to soak them for hours to soften enough for clipping with a tree pruner!!! Rachel

Happy Dancing happening on the ice flow! Had a check up on Tuesday. My head,chest and spine are all clear!! The only thing bothering me now is the herniated disc. No big deal. I can handle that. I hope and pray for all of you to receive good news. It is difficult to report such good news when othere are sill fighting. I do not mean to say I'm not fighting as I know this is a never ending battle with the beast. But foe now a calmer battle. Good cheer & the best luck coming your way. Having a chest x-ray tomorrow to see if what they think is scar tissue really is. fingers crossed that the area has not changed. I'll keep you posted. Rachel

Doug, funny you should mention a mohawk. During my head rad my hair developed a reverse mohawk. Top center of my hair had an empty strip down the center.Hardly ladylike!! But,I make do. Love your posts. Rachel

Dee, Makes me think of people who rent a summer cottage or put in a pool and you can't get rid of them until winter rolls around. My experience has been the opposite. My friends rallyed & took care of our house & garden when we went south for treatments, my inlaws opened their home to us and even welcomed our dog (until he grew) When we arrived home the fridge was stocked with essentials. the house was clean & there were fresh forced bulbs everywhere. I cried for days. And then the food started coming in & me with no appetite!! At least I didn't have to cook for my husband. I try to do a little something for them when I can. I know the above probably won't help her much but I think those "good friends" need a talking to. Perhaps they are uncomfortable with the disese and need some education. If they continue in that direction I would want to know what was going on. I do hope she can find comfort from all the wonderful people on this website. They have always opened their hearts to so many. Please tell her to feel free to PM me anytime. Here's to new friends. Rachel

I am so sorry for your loss. That was some lady. Wow, what a tribute to your mum. Hold it close to your heart & I'm sure you'll feel the warmth from your mum. Prayers of comfort for you and other friends & family members. Rachel
