  1. Thanks so much for your warm and caring welcome! It sure made me feel at home. Although having lung cancer puts us in a tough place, at least we can be there in good company! Sure do appreciate your kindness and compassion. For those who haven't seen it, I have a post under advocacy regarding casting votes for increased lung cancer research funding on President- elect Obama's change.gov website. Check it out if you can. Also, I noticed that several the members here have a chronological list of their diagnosis, tests, treatments, etc. - is that something I should have done on my profile? Is there a format or is it just free form? Thanks!
  2. Hello All, Everyone's participation in this is so encoraging. Make sure you go to the correct briefing: "Make the deadliest of all cancers, LUNG CANCER, history!" There is another briefing on lung cancer that is pretty much the same issue but I think that is just spliting the votes. It would seem best to stick with the original one that Stephanie started since it is picking up a lot of steam (2430 points)! Thanks!
  3. From the Change.gov website, for President-Elect Obama, they have a "briefing book." It is described below... "Share your ideas on any issue facing the new administration, then rate or comment on other ideas. The best rated ideas will rise to the top -- and be gathered into a Citizen's Briefing Book to be delivered to President Obama after he is sworn in." A friend has presented the following issue on the briefing book website: "Make the deadliest of all cancers, LUNG CANCER, history! " Her comments are eloquent as are the comments of the people who have cast a vote for this cause so far. Now we need YOU to go to this site and vote for it. You can copy and paste this note and email all your friends to vote for it, too. Ideas have to be the best rated to make it in the book that the President-elect receives. You do need to register at the site but it only takes a minute to register. If you can't find the issue after you register, type "lung cancer" in the search box and it will come up. Keep in mind, people can also vote it down, so we need to get plenty of affirmative votes. You may also vote down those that may be lower priorities for you, giving you "double" power to help this one surface...Can you help? It's easy...the briefing is at: http://citizensbriefingbook.change.gov/ ... 7800000004 m0H
  4. I am a 54 year old woman diagnosed with nsclc 3B in March 2008. Had a VATS lobectomy (URL) on March 12, 2008. Had 4 rounds of cisplatin/taxotere which ended in June 2008. Scans in September and again scans in January, so far, am so fortunate to have NED. I am particularly interested in organic, plant based diet, supplementation, anti-stress techniques, and most importantly increasing awareness of the prevailing bias against lung cancer victims and the lack of research funding for the nation's #2 killer.
