  1. When my husband was taking chemo he too had nausea. It's different for each person I understand and I hope you can get him some medication that will help. No one ever offered it to Donald.

  13. As a caregiver myself I know how draining it can be both physically and emotionally. When we love someone we will do whatever it takes to make their life easier. BUT take it from someone who knows.....it's also important to take care of yourself. I'm glad the medication is helping and that you can spend Thanksgiving at home with your sister and not in the hospital. I hope you have a wonderful day and I will be looking for a good update from you! ((hugs))
  14. I don't know about the mouthwash but I'm sure someone will follow who does. Please keep us updated! ((hugs))
  15. When Donald was under chemo it seemed like after every treatment he was having to have blood transfusions. He was taking Gemzar/Carbo at the time and it was just to harsh on his system. He then changed over to Tarceva and his energy level did increase. Let us know how things go for you.

    euthanasia

After watching Donald suffer the way he did while trying to fight the beast I feel that should I ever have such a diagnosis I will relocate to one of the states who will assist me so I can go to heaven gently.

    missing dad

I agree with Randy's advice as he also shared it with me when my husband went to heaven. I follow this advice and sit under the stars and talk to Donald. I may not hear his voice but I know he communicates with me through my heart. Bless you dear one. You aren't alone because your Dad is with you! ((hugs))
  18. Hello Sandra! Welcome to LCSC dear one. It sounds like you have a list of questions to ask your doctors. Please don't hesitate to ask them anything and everything you want to know. I myself don't have any experience is what you're dealing with but I'm sure some of our other members will be here soon to help. Please return and keep us updated ((hugs))
  19. Good morning everyone! I'm sitting at the kitchen table drinking my coffee and looking out at all the trees with the changing colors. It's just so beautiful! This is really something I had never seen living in California. There is a place in Missouri along the river everyone tells me is just breathtaking. I'm hoping we can do that soon before it's all over and the dreaded snow arrives. Many of you have been following my broken ankle saga. Well, It's been almost a year since my surgery and I have still been experiencing pain and swelling plus a "popping sound", so I went to see my surgeon. He said it's due to excessive scar tissue that is wrapping around the hardware he put in. He said I can opt for additional surgery or simply learn to live with it. I decided to simply wear a brace and live with it. I refuse to live in a wheel chair for another four months. I'm still teaching myself to quilt and learning a lot. That seam ripper and I are becoming best friends these days I think. I'm making several lap size quilts for the local nursing home and am hoping to get them delivered before winter arrives. I had no idea just how expensive this hobby could be when I first started but I've learned that the Goodwill and Salvation Army many times has fabric at decent prices. Well, I hope everyone is doing well and look forward to knowing what all of you are up to these days

    5 yrs

It was 5 years ago today that Donald went to heaven. They say that time heals but I don't agree because the scar will forever be there. I'm sure many of you feel the same way.
  21. My thoughts are with you dear one. Having the port put in while help a lot. Please keep us updated. ((hugs))

  23. Sorry to hear about this. I myself don't have much information but I'm sure others will follow and can help. Please keep us updated ((hugs))
  24. Oddly my husband didn't really have any symptoms that he told me about anyway. The only thing that really stood out before diagnosis with him was fatigue. I imagine everyone is different. Hoping for some good news on your sister and will be checking back for updates. ((hugs))
