I have spoken with Diane a few times via email. She does visit the forums here but not quite ready to jump back in. So.....please post your messages for her and keep her in your prayers. Thanks

Great news!

Oddly my husband didn't really have any symptoms that he told me about anyway. The only thing that really stood out before diagnosis with him was fatigue. I imagine everyone is different. Hoping for some good news on your sister and will be checking back for updates. ((hugs))

So sorry it took so long for the doctors to see this! Please keep us updated ((hugs))

I agree that we need to start posting more Randy. It's just been too slow around here. We can change that! Can't wait to see the new changes coming too! wOOT

Hi Cindy! I live in a tiny town so there normally isn't too much to do around here. I would have to say the most fun I had was driving about 75 miles away and discovered the Hobby Lobby store! I've been teaching myself to quilt for a few months now so when I found that store I spent a fortune on fabric. I hope to go back soon

Very good news! Thanks for the update! I too hope your Dad continues to do well Please come back and let us know ((hugs))

I was in contact with a caregiver last night by email. She told me that she had been feeling so depressed and was concerned about posting in this thread because she doesn't want to depress anyone else. I wish so much that she would come and vent her feelings with us all. It's so important to be able to have others who truly "understand". I can speak from my own personal experience when I say how important it is to have someone who can listen and offer support. The members here at Lungevity truly saved me. I was in a very dark place and these members were always willing to offer their support.
Being a caregiver for my husband was the hardest experience I ever had and if I hadn't been able to talk about my feelings I don't know what would have happened to me.
So, I'm saying to her as well as all the caregivers out there that you aren't alone. Please come and talk to us. Keeping everything inside is not a good thing to do. You must take care of yourself in order to take care of your loved one. Talk to me.......talk to us! ((hugs))

Hi everyone! I must be losing it because I started to post this as Thursday's Air! Sometimes all my days just seem to blend together these days. Or, maybe I'm simply getting old?
Weather here is in the mid 80's today which should be nice. I've got about 15 dozen ears of sweet corn from the garden to blanch and freeze today. I'm really starting to get tired of this. Last week was green beans. Next week will be tomatoes ughhhhh I think the only part I enjoy about the corn is sitting on the swing in the yard while shucking it and watching my dog play
I'm gonna be starting on another quilt top soon. I have several patterns picked out to make for the elderly at the local nursing home here. The cost of fabric is really high though so I'm hoping I can get people to donate any fabrics they have stashed away around here.
Well, if I don't get started it won't get done huh? Hope everyone is doing well! ((hugs))

HI everyone! I just ready Cindy's post and agree with her in the fact that it's a bit slow here lately because everyone is out enjoying some beautiful weather! We certainly need to get out as much as we can before that dreadful winter hits huh? Last winter be had over 5 ft hit us in one night! But, I was stuck inside in a wheelchair so I just watched it from the window. The chair is gone now and I'm walking although not perfect. My surgeon says we might have to remove all the metal plates, screws and rods from my ankle if I don't improve. ughhhhh If I agree to the surgery I want it done when the weather is bad and I'm inside anyway right?
Yesterday I completed another quilt top that I like a lot. I'll try to post a pic of one of the blocks. I just love the colors.
Today I'm canning green beans from the garden. Living in California my whole life I never learned how to do it, but here in Illinois it's a big thing. Not so sure I like it though. It's so much easier to go to the market and buy them in a can or frozen. LOL
Well, hope to hear from you soon and in the meantime.....enjoy your weather!

Hi everyone! Seems the boards are quiet lately! I imagine everyone is out having fun. At least I hope you are
The weather here in Illinois has been nice the last few days but it's supposed to get into the 90's today which I don't like so I'll most likely just stay inside doing some housework and hopefully some quilting. I want to make several lap quilts for the elderly to use at the local nursing home here this winter.
Russ's son and DIL just bought a house near by last week. I've been watching their son while they are moving which is a challenge for me. I'm not used to having small children around plus he is autistic which makes things a bit tense at times. But he is an adorable child
Well, I hope to hear from some of you soon! I wanna know what everyone is doing!!!!! LOL

Thank you for giving us an update. I myself don't have any information to assist you but I'm sure someone will follow me who can. Best wishes!

I too am sorry to read about your friend but also glad you found Lungevity. I've been here since 2009 when my husband was diagnosed with lung cancer. There is not only a wealth of information here there are many of us that want to offer you support. Please read through our many forums and if you have questions just ask away. Or if you need to vent.....we are here to help with that too.
I hope you return and let us know how your friend is doing. ((hugs))

My heart breaks for you dear one. I don't think that we ever "stop grieving" for the ones we love. It just gets somewhat easier over time. But there are still those moments that bring it all back to the surface I know I'll be thinking of you and hope your days get easier. ((hugs))

Yea....I've been MIA for a while. I'm really sorry for not being around but it's been busy here in my little world. Russ started a "part time" job that has turned into 7 days a week. With him being away so much I have my hands full at home trying to keep up. We have several acres of land to mow and it takes me almost 4 hours doing it alone.
I've also started quilting and really enjoying it. I am trying to teach myself and I gotta tell ya....I think I've ripped more apart then I have finished. I'll upload my last one for you to see
One of our cats recently had 4 baby kittens so now be have a total of 5 outdoor pets and 2 inside. I think that's plenty don't you? lol
Well,I hope everyone has a great 4th of July and stay safe

Has anyone heard from Diane? I hope all is well!

I'm so sorry to read about the difficulties your dad is having. I know having been a caretaker myself for my husband how hard it truly is. I can only suggest showing him as much love as you can and be there if he needs to talk. Have you considered hospice yet? I know that a hard decision to make. Please keep us updated ((hugs))
