  1. Hello to all - I just started tarceva Thursday. The inside of my mouth is so very tender today and my regular toothpaste burns. The tarceva web site has no information about toothpaste. Any information will be greatly appreciated. Richard.
  2. I was diagnosed with stage IV this summer and I am still undergoing treatment every 21 days. I just want to say thank you to each of you for sharing your journey with lung cancer. It is truly a blessing to have a place to turn to for information and most of all a place where everyone understands all the issues that go with lung cancer. God bless, Richard
  3. Wow, that is really good news. I have bone mets and asked onc. about zometa. He said no. He only gives it to women!
  4. After two treatments of taxotere and another chemo drug my turnors are gone. Onc. gave me two more treatments of taxotere and then a PET. PET results were excellent. No more chemo!!! I'm on a target drug now. I did have a rash and all the other side effects of chemo with taxotere. Best wishes to you and your sister. I will pray extra hard that your sister will have the same results that I had. Richard
  5. My oc told me yesterday that my "markers" went from 185 to 140, and that that was a good sign. What is a "Normal" number I wonder?
  6. I received my 4th chemo treatment on Friday 9/18. This one is a real doosey. I am much sicker, weak and just out of it. I look like I’ve aged 15 or 20 years, even my voice is raspy and old. My hair is almost gone and I can’t walk without a quad cane. Please someone tell me this will get better someday! I have two more treatments then a PET. Please don’t get me wrong, I am so grateful that the chemo is working but when I look in the mirror I don’t recognize myself. RichardR
  7. Welcome Kelli. Your Dad, you and your entire family are in my prayers. Richard R.
  8. Thank you for sharing. You are indeed a special gift to all of us.

    tomorrow

Lilly, Sending best wishes and prayers your way.
  10. Sorry about your nightmare. I guess the whole cancer thing just creeps into every nook and cranny of our lives. We had a complete power outage last night. When I first opened my eyes it was so dark I thought I was dead!
  11. X-ray shows lungs are clear "no acute disease." Praise be to God. I will have my third chemo treatment tomorrow. Onc to add Zometa to treatment.
  12. My name is Richard, I am 67 yo. (I had a major stroke at 50yo, and fought hard to walk again) I was diagnosed on 7/10/09 with NSCLC-large cell, Stage IV. Tumor size on left lung 5.3x4cm, tumor size at L3 unknown. First visit to Oncology Dr. I was told NO Golf as tumor on spine had damaged bone structure. On 7/13/09 (after biopsy) Dr. told me he would cure me and fix my back so I can play golf again. He said NO surgery, and ordered chemo (taxotere, paraplatin and avastin) with radiation in 3 cycles ie. chemo, chemo, radiation, PET. First treatment was on 7/16/09. Yesterday, 8/7/09, Dr. told me he couldn't fix my back and once the cancer was gone I would just have to take my chances and play golf "as is" he also stated that he was not going to give me any radiation. I'm extremely concerned ....should I be?
