  1. Thank you to all veterans and their families for your service. If you have been diagnosed with lung cancer and are a Vietnam Veteran, it is Agent Orange connected and you should be receiving VA disability payments. If you are the surviving spouse of a Vietnam Veteran who passed away with lung cancer you should be collecting benefits. I will be happy to help. Thanks for your service Cecil
  2. DoD needs veterans with lung cancer to serve as Consumer Advocates on Scientific Review Panels for Lung Cancer Research. You can help shape the vision of research, provide our perspective, and create a sense of urgency for the new developments in the fight against lung cancer. To participate you must be: • A survivor of lung cancer; • An active participant in a lung cancer–related organization (support, outreach, advocacy) if he or she is not active duty military personnel; • A high school graduate or equivalent; • Able to read and write English; • Able to demonstrate an interest in extending his or her personal scientific knowledge; • Willing and able to represent the views of the community rather than his or her personal perspective; and • Able to access a computer with a connection to the Internet Please, your help is needed.. The first panels are forming soon so contact Carolyn Branson at Carolyn_Branson@sra.com ASAP. I have an announcement I can email that gives more details and I will be happy to answer any questions I can. Cecil
  3. Hello All, Thanks for all the kind welcomes. Look forward to your fellowship. Happy Day Cecil
  4. Reese You are definitely eligible for VA disability benefits. Any veteran who served at least 1 day in Nam and has respiratory cancer is eligible. There are a wide array of benefits that accompany a disability award. You need: *Proof of Vietnam Service - DD214 *Proof of respiratory cancer - Letter from doctor, biopsy results, scan results. Highly recommend you use a representative to assist with the claim. I used the TN VA representative in my home town. Need to move fast since the disability date will be the date the VA recieves your first claim. Will help anyway I can. Happy Day Cecil
  5. Hello All, I am a SCLC survivor since 12/12/2008. Completed chemo, thoracic irradiation, and PCI. Now in remission with scans every 2 months. I am a Vietnam Vet and have completed the VA disability process. I look forward to participating in this site.
