  1. Hello Friends, If you are interested in information on where to get a Jazz/Gospel CD from a great musician here is so. cal.. whose music is absolutely incredible please pm me. I heard this man play/sing in my church and he touched me in an incredible way. His wife passed away at the age of 40 and his songs sing about angels, living, hope and living through hard times.. I would like to share it with those who are interested. I heard it right after Shannon's Mike passed and I was totally mesmorized at how uplifting it was. I paid full price for the CD and I told him about our group and how i think it would be so great for cancer patients and caregivers to hear his music. I just want to tell him how he touched me and he was kind enough to offer the CDs at a discounted rate for us. I think many would benefit from it. It helps me in so many ways. Hope all are well and bless you all. Laurie

    The 7UP's

The 7 Ups 1. Wake Up !! Decide to have a good day. "This is the day the Lord hath made; let us rejoice and be glad in it." Psalms 118:24 2. Dress Up !! The best way to dress up is to put on a smile. A smile is an inexpensive way to improve your looks. "The Lord does not look at the things man looks at. Man looks at outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart." I Samuel 16:7 3. Shut Up!! Say nice things and learn to listen. God gave us two ears and one mouth, so He must have meant for us to do twice as much listening as talking. "He who guards his lips guards his soul." Proverbs 13:3 4. Stand Up!! . . . for what you believe in. Stand for something or you will fall for anything. "Let us not be weary in doing good; for at the proper time, we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good..." Galatians 6:9-10 5. Look Up !! . . . to the Lord. "I can do everything through Christ who strengthens me". Philippians 4:13 6. Reach Up !! . . . for something higher. "Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not unto your own understanding. In all your ways, acknowledge Him, and He will direct your path." Proverbs 3:5-6 7. Lift Up !! . . . your Prayers. "Do not worry about anything; instead PRAY ABOUT EVERYTHING." Philippians 4:6 A POSITIVE THOUGHT If God had a refrigerator, your picture would be on it. If He had a wallet, your photo would be in it. He sends you flowers every spring, and a sunrise every morning. Whenever you want to talk, He'll listen. He could live anywhere in the universe, and He chose your heart. What about the Christmas gift He sent you in Bethlehem; not to mention that Friday at Calvary. Face it, He's crazy about you.

  7. Hi Mainecoon, Congratulations on the shrinkage!... Chemo is so hard on the body.. and my mother had a difficult time with it as did Katies Dad. Unfortunately her mother passed away after the third session.... We were extremley close to her and it was a tremendous loss for my mother... and our family The fourth chemo was the worst.. she was sick for a solid month and at the hospital for most of that time, so she decided to stop after a clear scan!!! We were going to reduce the dose and go for six sessions if the scans were not clear. We are not sure if the emotional toll or just the toxic effect caused this or a combo of both but that was what we experienced. I'm praying for you and your wife. Keep the faith and keep us posted.

    Wanted

Dave, This post as always is so thoughtful of you. I can't imagine you hurting anyone...but i know the toll that this disease and Cancer/steriod treatments takes on patients. My Mom was one of the sweetest most loving people and she had some really bad days... Sometimes the posts can be so raw and i can't imagine that everything on this board is going to be "perfect".. after all we are all facing the most challenging, difficult, and stressfull diseases.. IE LUNG CANCER!! Dave, take care of yourself first and foremost. But please remember that any member of this board should be strong enough to realize what you are going through and that you are in the midst of the battle.. For us to not see you at your best and yes at your worst would not be a true "support for you" ... Yes you are the director but you are a Cancer patient who is in treatment..and a SURVIVOR!!! For you to step down, not post and worry so much would be to "Candy Coat this disease"... Dave, I care about you so much and please do whatever you need to do to take care of YOU!!! But know that you are so strong and loved and admired by so many.. You are our leader, Laurie
  18. YIPEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!! SANDY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WHAT FANTASTIC NEWS!!!!!! So Happy For you!!!!! Laurie
  19. Susan, Hello... so sorry to hear that your Mom is not feeling well. My Mom had something similar to this. Her breathing was "okay" but she got deathly ill.. I have no idea why.. doctors had no clue either. Some say there is a myth with SCLC that it throws off toxins as the body rids it self of the cancer. ????? My Mom eventually started feeling better on her own. But it took a good month. Our doctor even suggested "Brain Mets".. thank God not the case... I would check her for infection, dehydration, blood cots... etc.. We just prayed and it went away...??????? I just chalked it up to "chemo overload" but still wonder... Laurie

  24. Sam-Oh My Gawd... that is Exactly the message that I was getting lound and clear!!! Which was pretty upsetting.. It is like cured or not cured.. I spoke of Topetecan and the 9 year remissions of two others who had it come back over and over and got back into remission hopeful2 - I will be emailing you to exchange numbers.. I think she just needs encouragement and to talk to someone else who is trying so hard to get back on track and exhausted. Katie- As always thankyou for all your support.. I admire you so much Lynn, Ginny- thank you for your replies all are needed and helpful. Bless you all in this fight.
  25. Sam, My thoughts and prayers are with you. You are a strong and wonderful person. You hang in there and know that we are all praying for you! Bless you Laurie
