    Six months today....

Dear Pam, I was so sad reading your post. I lost my Dad many years ago to a fatal heart attack. He was age 46. I was 2 weeks from graduating high school. That was in 1972!! I still feel the void but can accept it. Grief takes a long time to go through and now I face my brother also age 46 with LC stage 4 and It's different as this is a grief that is longlasting even though he has not left us here on Earth. Please dont think you have nothing to give any of us as just us being able to help you is giving us something. Please take care of your own health, continue to work (and it is work as you know) through your grief, be there for your Mom and Let US be here for you!!!!
  2. I echo Carleen ... She said it all. God bless you and I pray for you and your siblings.

  5. Welcome Bruce, I love your attitude We are all here for you, as well as we know you are here for us. We are a family .. a special family, one that is created out of love, hope, support and at times fear and sadness. We come together for friendship, knowledge, laughs, shoulders to cry on and passing tissues when we have something to celebrate or something to mourn. You have found a wonderful caring site. The VERY best I have found on the net!!! Welcome to our family and be a Brother to all of us !!

    OFF IRESSA

I am so sorry to hear that treatment is longer working for your brother. As you can see from the picture below the reason I joined this group was my brother. I love him so very much and I know you love yours and have been there for him also. I have to give it to God and get my support through him and the members here. God bless you and your brother.
  9. So glad your tumor was removed and you are feeling better. I'm not sure if I could keep my eye open seeing a needle headed for it!! God Bless You
  10. I'm sorry I know we were told not to post anymore on this thread but I wanted to say how I feel . When my brother was dx. I was crushed!! I started to look up and read everything I could get my hands on and cry throughout most of it!! I first began going to the AC site and got this address from there. It was said to be a more active board. THAT IT IS !! I became so depressed that I needed medication myself for my brothers illness. I am so much better now. It is through my reading and posting here that has been at least 1/2 of my feeling better and the other 1/2 has to go to the chemicals My brother is peacefully sleeping downstairs right now while I spend the wee hours reading this board. I am so very thankful to both you and Rick for giving my worries, frustrations, celebrations etc a home !! What you two do for so many people here can only be a blessing from God and we thank you !!!!
  11. Thank you so much!! I, also enjoy reading whatever you post. I am also printing it out to look back on as time goes on.. and when I do I will think of you and unselfishness in sharing it with all of us
  12. Hi all, My brother had muscle spasms the other night that he described as if his feet were running while lying down to go to sleep. He said they went from his feet to his legs to his arms. He says he has never experienced any spasm like these were. He is under a lot of stress and I was wondering if that may have anything to do with it?
  13. Thank You Curtis as I have read so much about Becky that I searched all her posts and wished that I had known her. She was some special lady. Again, thank you for sharing her tribute and know that we are all wishing you and Katie all the very best in your new home and a lifetime of health and happiness. God Bless you both.
  14. Happy to hear your Dad has done so much improving Hope he keeps flirting!! Bless you all
  15. With my Brother not living with me yet and my not being able to attend all his DR appointments and his state of confusion.. I dont know just what he is on yet... But I will !! He at one time had a very low red blood count and needed to be transfused and that helped tremendously but I dont know what platelets are and what that all means. Thx for your reply, I do appreciate it!!!
  16. Your Dad and family are in my prayers. Love him, comfort him and be there. Leave the rest to God. He will take care.
  17. Best of luck and prayers are being sent your way!! How very exciting Please keep us all up to snuff on your progress. As for the money... I hope you are covered but if not It will be worth every penny if it works for you and becomes an option for all that suffer this grim disease!! All good things come to those that wait... you waited and now it's time for the good things One thing we must all remember is there is ALWAYS hope. I believe in miracles.
  18. My brother called today after seeing his oncologist and said his DR said he was 50% in remission. I take it that meant that his tumors had shrunk in half?? The nurse also called him while we were talking and said his platelets were a bit low. What does that mean? How does it happen and what can be done to prevent it if anything?? I am trying to understand all this as I will be his primary caregiver in a few weeks and want to understand all that I can. If anyone can help me with these answers I would sure appreciate it. I love this site and all of you!! This is just a God send to me. Thanks all and God Bless each and every one of you
  19. Bless you both and I pray for the same.

    Iressa & Cytoxan

Opps that was me above... I forgot per usual to sign in.
  21. Hi Anne, I, too have read "Final Gifts" which someone said I should read from the American Cancer site. I went directly to 1/2 bay and bought it. It answered so many of my questions about end of life issues and hospice etc. It wasent a hard read for me but a very comforting one. My Mother who is 78 is here now and reading it and will go home to North Carolina and bring it to my other brother to read. I will become my brother's (whose picture is here below with me) primary caregiver in a few weeks and it has helped me so much to deal with all of this. Get the book!! It is a wealth of information and an eye opener. I guarentee it will answer all your questions!! God Bless you and your family. Mom knows you love her and you did what was best for her.
