  1. Hi Laurie,

It is so good to hear from you. I'm so happy that you mother is doing well. As far as your neck goes did they examine your shoulder area. You probably need a MRI to look for buldging disc, degenerative joint disease, ect. If you are having numbness in your arm a herniated disc or buldging disc in your cervical spine could be the problem. Also you could have a impingement syndrome in your shoulder that could be causing neck and arm pain and numbness. Just a few thoughts. Good luck and God Bless.

PS Impingement does not always show up on the EMG nerve conduction studies that the neurologist probably did.

  2. Hope,

I'm so sorry about your mother. Her death sounds very similar to my mothers last November. She is in a better place now. I will keep you in my prayers.

  4. Anne,

I'm so sorry about your mother. It is so hard to loss your mom. It has only been 1 month since my mothers death and today would of been her birthday. I do rejoice in the fact that she is in heaven and someday I will see her again. You are in my prayers.

    God Bless You,

  5. Lillie,

Wow when I read your post it sounded just like what I had been through with my mother who passed away two weeks ago. Just from what you are telling me it sounds like your mother should be at peace soon. My mother was also on the morphine and only would suck on a sponge the last few days. My family and I were constantly wetting her mouth with a sponge because we could tell that she was very dry. Her blood pressure never did drop prior to her passing but she did spike a fever of 106 just a few hours prior to the end. It was very painful watching her go through this and when she did pass I felt a small amount of relief that her battle was over and her pain was gone. Just keep talking to your mother as they told us the hearing is the last to go. We kept talking to Mom and told her that it was ok to go and that we would take care of Dad. When she did pass it was very peaceful. I hope and pray that you will find that peace soon with your mother.

  6. Lillie,

I'm so sorry you are having to go through this. My mom just passed away two weeks ago. She was in the hospital for only four days before passing away. I know this is a very hard time. I will keep you in my prayers.

  7. Cristi,

You need to get your mother into a doc this week. Two weeks is entirely two long for a patient with SCLC. Her cancer could grow significantly in two weeks. SCLC typically responds very well to chemo. My mother felt better within 3 days of getting her first round of chemo. Please try to get her into a oncologist this week if possible. Take care and I will keep your family in my prayers.
