  16. I just wanted to update you on my mothers progess. She is doing better now than she ever has. I am so happy I just had to let you all know. She was given 3-6 months at the first of her diagnosis and she is now 6 months into treatment and doing better than ever. She is taking chemo every three weeks and still gets a little sick the week after treatment but otherwise she is not using any oxygen and is eating well. Just a few weeks ago she was so sick she could not get out of bed. She is even going on vacation this week (something we thought would never happen again) I just wanted to share this good news. I hope everyone else will have good news to post soon also. Susan M.

    Hi everyone

Jay, It is so good to see and hear from you again. My deepest simpathy goes out to you and your family for the loss of your dear mother. I will continue to keep you in my thoughts and prayers. Lots of Love, Susan M.
  20. Deanna, I'm so happy to hear that your mother is doing well. I feel like scans every six weeks for so for the first three months off chemo is a good idea. My mom had a scan at six weeks after chemo and we had some growth. I'm glad that they did not wait until three months. My mom has had 6 rounds of VP16/Carbo and will have two more since it worked so well before. I think your mom will be fine as it seems her cancer is gone more significantly than my Mom's was after six rounds. Keep us updated and congratulations on great scans!! Susan M.
  21. Sam, This sounds good. I will keep you in my prayers as you beat and wip the Large cell cancer. Best wishes, Susan M.
  22. Ray, I'm sorry that you have to have chemo. You will do great and I'm sure that you will beat all the odds. It sounds like you have a good doctor. I will keep you in my prayers. Susan M.
  23. Thanks for all of your responses. Even though Mom received bad results she is doing better than she ever has right now. I plan on keeping the doctor on his toes. No more waiting a week for scan results I told him. He agreed and promises to get them ASAP next time. I reallly like her oncologist but a little bit of me wishes he would of changed her chemo drug instead of trying two more rounds but Mom tolerates this chemo very well. We will continue to pray and hope. I'm leaving Saturday for Florida with my family for a vacation. I will not post for a week. I will have alot of catching up to do when we get back. God Bless you all. Susan M.

    Jay

Tina, I will definitely keep Jay and his family in my prayers. This poor child has been through more than most people endure in a lifetime. Thanks for the update. Susan M.
  25. Hello Everyone, My parents and I visited with Mom's oncologist today for the results of ther scans. The scan showed that she has a 20% increase in the size of the lymph nodes in her mediastinal area and a 40% increase in her liver mets. She completed six rounds of chemo (vp16/carbo) eight weeks ago. He took her right into chemo today for another two rounds. If she does not respond he will them try changing her chemo drug. This is not good news as she was not off the chemo long enough to get any of her strength back. She was in a pretty good mood today despite all this bad news. I am planning a 50th wedding anniversery party for her and Dad in August and she is very excited about that. She wrote out her guest list while she was getting chemo today. I just hope the chemo works so she can feel better for her big day. Thank you for all your support. You guys are great!! Susan M.
