Hi All,
I got my scan results today. There was no change!!!! That's the good news. But the scan showed a "dark area" above the kidney. I asked my doc if the cancer could have spread there and he said he does not think so. He does not know what it is so he wants me to have a scan of the abdomin just to make sure. Anyone ever had an abdomin scan? Any thoughts on what it could be? Now I'm back to square one with worrying about another scan. I'm not going to schedule it today, I will wait until tomorrow. I just want to enjoy the fact that my scan is clean at this moment. I'll schedule the ab scan tomorrow. Boy this sucks!!!

Tomorrow I go for my first scan since my pet scan was clean on 3/19.
I'm so nervous I don't know what to do. I'm praying for the best, but thinking the worst. I think I'm having pain but I'm not sure if its real or just my imagination! I don't know what to think or how to feel! I also know I am rambling at this point. I have only posted here once before, and I went back to lurking. I think this is a great board, full of information and I'm going to try not to be a lurker, but a contributor.
From what I have been reading, I think this emotional roller coaster I am riding since scheduling my scan is normal. I guess I'm just looking for someone who has already gone through this to confirm it for me.

I'm new to this site myself, but so far the people are warm and caring. I'm glad I found this site.
I too went into shock when I found out I had sclc (dx'd 8/03), so what you are feeling has to be normal. I'm sure others will respond, but try to keep your chin up and think positive! Please keep us posted after your mothers visit with the oncologist.

I just want to thank you for your responses. I'm so glad to have found this site and be able to read up on things and share experiences with others! I even found out what NED was in the glossary! My husband and I celebrated our 28th anniversary on the 10th and we leave for Las Vegas on the 17th, returning on the 22nd and I see the doctor on the 23rd. This will be my first visit with the Doctor since my PET showed clean. What should I expect when I see him? He did mention that he may have me do another cat scan. Would this be to see if the tumor is growing back?
