Great news . IMITREX is wonderful for migraines. Have to ask the doctor for a prescription for it it works great for me. CHAROLETTE
  2. I to am with you and hear what you are saying every one thinks I am fine to but they dont see me a night when I go to bed and the tears flow and I cling to his ball cap that he wore and I cry my self to sleep it will be 3 months on the twenty fourth and I miss him so much. I went to the dog pound and got a puppy on the first to help take my mind off of his passing and the on Monday the puppy got sick took him to the vet and he said he had a intestinal virus but it turned out he had parvo and I had to take him back to the pound to have them put him down so I am all alone again and it hurts so much. Christmas will not be the same and I hope the new year will get better but I dont know I have to see a surgeon on 1/6 to see about a lump on my back and I have to have a whole right knee replacement some time after the holidays. My brother says he is doing ok waiting for new scans but my niece said they are concerned that the cancer might be in his throat now so for me the new year isnt looking to good. I hope every one has a Merry Christmas and a better NEW YEAR
  3. Thank you Ginny I went to the social security office yesterday to apply for that $255.00 that you are suppose to get and they had me fill out paper work for the SSD on my husband he said it may take 3 to 6 months before I hear anything on it. He took all the info from when my husband was DX to the end which was nine months. I am doing ok I take one day at a time and some are good and some are bad where I cry all the time. My brother was real sick with broncitis, he has finished chemo and radiation and they are going to rescan in 2 weeks to see if there is enough shrinkage to do surgery, I am praying real hard that they can do surgery and that they get it all, I cant lose him, We just buried my Aunt Janet Monday she had esphaguse cancer and we lost her husband in Feb. to prostrate cancer and then in August my sister lost her husband to a massive heart attack so I have had enough death in my family. How are you doing???
  4. Has anyone ever gotten SSD after spouse has passed away??

  8. Mandy see if her doctor can give her some thing to help her quit the smokes, it is not easy to just quit my husband did quit after his first chemo but every once in a while he had a really bad craving for them but he has not had one since which surprised me because he drove semi and was a 2 pack a day smoker so I was very proud of him. They have stuff to help I quit with the help of wellbutrin or also know as zyban, so try that also commit lozengers helped. Prayers for you and your mom God Bless Charolette

  10. My prayers go out to you and your family I know what you are going through because I am going through the same thing with my husband, we stopped the last 4 rounds of radiation on my husband and he went into hospice this morning It is just so hard for you right now and I understand . God Bless you all Charolette
  11. My dear Rich has gone into hospice care as of this morning we went to radiation yesterday and it was the hardest day to get him there I had to call my son to takeoff work to come and help me to get him there, we had him in the day before for MRI of brain, when we got him there I asked to speak to the nurse to see about getting help to get a wheel chair for home and they told me that the radiation doctor wanted to talk to me and I just broke down knowing it was bad and told them I needed help and my son said why are we putting him through the last 4 radiation treatments and they said we could stop them, I got on phone with the doctor and she said the MRI showed a large tumor behind his right eye and a few other spots and thats when they suggested hospice they sent him up stairs to get IVs for very bad dehydration and sent us home with hospice. So all chemo stopped and radiation stopped and they more or less prepared us that his body is in the process of shouting down. My 3 sons and I are very sadden by this turn of events. Please pray for him and thanks for listening and I will try to keep checking the board when I can and know that I am praying for each and every one of you. God Bless You all Charolette
  12. Hello all, Had hubby to the oncologist yesterday and he did blood work and found that his ammonia level is high and that can be why he is confused , he also order a MRI of the brain again to be sure there is no new brain mets which that was my concern, he also said no more chemo at this time because he is so weak and his weight is down to 129lb, he has another week of radiation on his spine then we see oncologist on the 23rd to see what is next. He is also a bit dehydrated so I am pushing fluids in him. They had a hard time getting blood out of him yesterday. He is not eating much at this time and is in a little pain in his back. He get a morphine pill in the morning for that and then if he needs he takes ultram for pain. his B/P has been low and pulse has been low also, I am realy worried at this point, and I just dont know what to do. Prayers please Thank You Charolette

    Question????

Has anyone gotten the hiccups, my hubby has had them off and on for a couple of weeks now and they seem to be getting worse also he is having a lot of confusion and that seems to be getting worse. We have to see the oncologist on thursday and I am going to ask if it could be more brain mets and ask for another MRI of the brain. He is on a 60mg of morphine once a day and also decadron 4mg twice a day so I dont know if that is affecting him with the hiccups and confusion or not any info would help till we go to the doctors thursday, he is also having radiation on his spine for 10 minutes a day 5 days a week but the hiccups and confusion started before that. Thank You Charolette
