Where to start counting.........1/3 of our side yard (we have 11/2 acres) is wet lands so the conservation people almost count the leaves as they fall in the autumn Wouldn't want us to desicrate this particular bog! The back and part of the other side of the lot also are treed. We have a circular drive out front which has a bunch of trees in the middle also. I have no idea what most of these trees are, there were a lot of very spectacular red maples last fall and some are pines and cedar..............now I'm stumped. Thank goodness Richard has a shredder for branches and leaves........we don't have to buy any mulch this year!

Well. I guess the wondering is over...we know what happened to Ms Cindi, I too was lax in making my last phone call, she moved before I could make amends and I've been feeling guilty for not knowing where she was and how she was. I've missed those hours of sick humor phone calls for a while now and they will be no more. But Ms Cindi will live on in our hearts and memories and continue to make us smile whenever we think of her. Godspeed Cindi, Geri

you don't want me to list all the medications I'm either allergic to or get such awful side effects that I don't take them..........the cure can sometimes be worse than the disease. The ones I'm allergic to generally give me a rash, make me short of breath, light-headed, you name it. Antibiotics are the worst offenders which as you can imagine can complicate a very simple infection. Now aren't you gald you asked.......... Geri

Hey bud, this is from another one who shouldn't be alive I'm a firm believer in fate, when we're born an expiration date is recorded somewwere and regardless of disease, accident or whatever that's the date you die. So like you I have my affairs in order but not because of my cancer, I got those in order after my daughter was born and I became responsible for another life. Cancer is a "by the way" at this point in my life, I've survived lung cancer and am now battling breast cancer but the experts can't tell me when the shoe will drop.......they didn't know before I got all this and they sure don't know now - by all the odds I should have been past my sell by date about 6 years ago!!!!!!!!! So let's keep on living for now and bugger the future - that wil be what it will be for whatever length of time we have, let's face it even the "healthy" people we know don't know how long they've got Keep the kick-*ss attitude my friend! Today I'm very grateful that I have the family that I have and that in my many moves around this continent I have made some irreplaceable friends. Richard needs to go back to VT a few times in February and I have 2 friends in Toronto who will be flying in for a week each to take care of things so that Richard can go do what he needs to do without worrying about me. These two helped with our move and one flew in for our walk when the other one couldn't drive with her, I am truly blessed. My family is taking such good care of me (my daughter says it's just my turn for a change!) and I have some of the most loyal loving friends a person could ever wish for.... they're spread out all over North America but come running whenever needed. I'm grateful for this everyday, not just on January 30th

Don't know about the confrontation bit, but it would definitely change the tone of the friendship if not kill it all together.

Had mine out at 20. Just remember the mother of all sore throats for a few days and then no more infections. As Rochelle said, they have to have improved things since I had mine done 40 (yikes) years ago. Go for it. Geri

Teri I have no idea how you're feeling but my heart goes out to you. Losing your soul mate is beyond my imagination so no words of wisdom from me. I've kept up with your posts and greatly admire the way you have handled each situation as it arises. This current one does not seem like faking it to me, it just seems that some things are only shared with people that have your trust and confidence and these new friends had yet to reach that status. If I were one of that group I would not be offended that you didn't share your marital status with me, as a new aquaintence it's really none of my business. Once a relationship is developing all sorts of personal things are shared and I would have assumed that it was all too new and too raw for you to talk about to people who, the day before, were absolute strangers. Your strength and dignity are very evident in the way you handled this situation, your new friends will be very honored if they become a part of your life. Geri

I'm over six years from dx and this subject still gets me all fired up. I know why people are asking the question - if I don't smoke I'm safe and if I do I might be next - but I still find the qiestion extremely rude when I'm asked it. There have been countless times over the last 6 years that I have been subjected to this behaviour re my LC but...not once since I was dx with BC in March 07 has anyone asked me any kind of personal question as to why I have this one, not even if I have a relative with it. Says a lot doesn't it! I don't know how to remove the stigma, time and information sure aren't watering it down at all, next time you're asked give them my answer.... if you don't know me well enough to know, you don't know me well enough to ask! No resolutions here, just hoping that 2008 is a kinder year for us all. 2007 will not go down in my memory book as a stellar example of life's lessons, more of a how NOT to book. Onward and upward, for me there's nowhere to go but up so thats the direction I'm going Happy and healthy New Year everyone. Geri
