  1. Hi everyone! My husband was diagnosed in April of lung cancer which had spread to his brain. August 30, 2011, he was scheduled for brain surgery to remove the tumor. However, with an updated CT scan multiple (12 or more) leisons were found and the original tumor had increased in size. Additionally, both lungs now had several spots and a fungus infection. Radiation was started to reduce the leisons (two rounds). After bringing in an infectionous disease specialist, it has been decided the leisons are more than likely from the fungus infection and not the lung cancer. However, they won't know until re-evaluation after treatment with vor...zole. Moreover, the doctors are saying the original mass on the lung has also increased in size. Before the latest finding (aspergillus), the lung specialist informed me the biopsy in April showed Stage IV small-cell lung cancer and I was given a prognosis of less than 6 mo. Now, no one will tell me anything as everything is up in the air and only speculation until they can shrink the leisons and possibly biopsy. Does anyone have any information on this? Can you tell me more of what to expect?
