  2. Hi and sorry we could not meet under better circumstances.I believe the tiredness your having is due to all the stress your under with the unexpected problem in your life.My Wife was recently dxed with possibly stage4 sclc and she has now finished her second round of chemo-cisplatin/vp16 for 3 day's then 3 week's off.Thursday was day 3 and all she want's to do right now is sleep so your right in wanting a reserve for energy. My advice would be to eat as much healthy food and lot's of vegetables and fresh fruit's you can before you start treatment so as to give your body a immunity boost. After my wifes first round and she felt like eating again we really pushed the food thing so as to prepare for what is now going on.She is also now taking Astragalus which you can buy at most natural food store's.It is suppose to enhance your T cell's and according to a report out of China people taking this Herb with their regular treatment are showing a 2 times more survival rate and our onocologist after being showed the herb said he had no problem with her taking it. So keep up the good fight and BELIEVE>>>> Larry H

  6. Hi all again and tnx for all the great responces.I am a illiterate computer operater and am having trouble understanding how to get around this board. So i'll answer elaine and all other Ks friend's.Oh by the way St.Francis is a wonderful hospital and they actually work with you on paying your bill, that can not be said for our med clinic and hospital here in Dodge City.Elaine Dr. johnson is our onc out here and he cover's clear out to liberal.garden City is not covered by wichita. My wife is being so much stronger in her beleive that she will beat this monster that it shames me to be the actual weaker one. When they showed my wife the picture of her tumor after biopsy she showed it to me and said simply this is what i'm going to beat.To my wifes way of thinking this is just another road block she has to over come and the cancer center nurses are just amazed at her attitude. The day she was told she had lung cancer she allowed herself as she put's it one day of pitty and said now she had her pitty day it was time to battle the beast and get on with life. I offer a prayer of healing to all who suffer this horrible desease in both body and soul,as like my wife say's no Doctor know's when you'll die only God.We lost our oldest son in 1994 to a hit and run driver and he never had a second chance even tho we made sure he recieved the last rites but to those who find it hard to accept your fate please stop and think that GOD is giving you time whether it be 6 month's or 6 years and that is so much more than many people recieve.I like to tell people that cancer is very bad but at least we as cancer patient's know what were dealing with and they may have something going on at this moment that's taking there life or health but just don't know.Thank's again for all the wonderful thought's and i'll keep everyone up to date and try not to make a pest of myself. If everyone lit just one little candle what a bright world this would be......... Larry
  7. Hi my Wife was just recently dxed with stage 4 lung cancer and has just completed her first 3 day's in a row treatment. She like so many other's had her terrible desease discovered by accident. She had as so many no sign's of problem's just a small case of pnuemonia and low sodium count all noticed while in hospital for minor surgery. She is a ex smoker but had stopped 4 yr's ago after i had 5 bypasses that were caused from smoking.I then a year later was dxed with bladder cancer and now we are sharing the same ononcologist. Now here is where my concern come's in on the staging.I noticed on her slip of paper the onc gave her he say's stage4 sclc assuming liver involved. On her initial ct's it showed no brain tumor's with a 3.5 cm tumor on lung and possible shadow on liver. The onc supposedly left instruction's for the hospital to do another brain and liver scan but hospital say's they had no such instruction's.We live in western Ks. and were not as upto date as the metro areasWere very comfortable with our onc but like most people in our town of 25,000 not to impressed with our hospital. I'm sure when the onc see's her report he will make sure the scan's are done, but we have to wait untill he return's here.He cover's a very large area of Ks and we are so very fortunate to have truly great cancer nurses.I will end this intro by saying that this cancer has been in some way's a god send as we have returned to god and the church after a 30 year relapse, and as we've all heard so many times the lord work's in mysterious way's.Now we attend mass and have begun to understand christ's messages and how important it is to have treasures in heaven and not on earth.Feel no sorrow for us but give Glory to God on highest for giving us still this chance to serve him and hopefully set examples that will bring other's to him and if it is GOD's will then his healing. tnx all for reading this, larry
