I like being hugged by those who mean it. It wonders me though if a family member gives a stiff hug. They are in the minority and I guess have their own reasons for it.

Three:
Time (because they offered me a Sr discount price of $19.95 a year), Family Circle, and Woman's day (which I'm getting by mistake as I thought I was renewing Family Circle.

Friday will be my last day of teaching music K-12.
I'm graduating into the world of retirees and looking forward to it. Just felt like sharing the news as part of my celebration.

Every holiday or special occasion that comes up I for some reason find something that catches my eye - something I 'just have to have'. Yesterday it was a small $7.00 beanie pink poodle dog with a bone in it's mouth having the words "I love you" printed on it.
I know exactly where the idea came from that I purchase it. Thanks Timmy P., Happy Easter.

Warm chocolate melting cake (that they serve on carnival cruise ships). To die for!

I love my job as K-12 music teacher. However, it's time to retire in July (my choice). I'm ready to move on and hang around people my own age. Travel sounds good too. Have to admit that some kids are getting harder to manage these days. Blaming it on today's society.

Superbowl? What's that?

Many times. Usually I am the leader since I'm a music teacher. Now that I'm a surviving spouse who is ready to retire, the younger ones are coming to my house to seranade me.
I absolutely love it.

My best to you this holiday season,
From one who lost my best friend this same time of year.

Two years ago today I lost my man. The only thing that makes it easier is that today is Tuesday and he died on a Sunday. I am thankful for this site to be able to even publish his name. I'm often lonely without you Timothy!

I too know and understand. It will be two years on the 19th of December for me. Yet I feel him being my 'supervisor' each day, each moment.

It's so hard. Each new thing that comes along does that to me. Here's to all of us on this Thanksgiving 2006.

I hear and feel your pain. Surreal is an excellent way of saying how it feels. I send you many good vibes as you go through this part of your living.
Please know that as time passes you will slowly start to heal and feel a little better. Remember that he is always with you; inside you, outside you, all around you. It's the spiritual place where we all came from and to where we all shall go. Knowing that you are not alone in this may help too.
My best to your and your family. Keep in contact with those of us who are also going through this.

Dear Pat,
It's good you were able to vent on this board. I have much compassion for you since I too am a surviving spouse - for almost two years now.
With that said, I firmly believe it would be beneficial for you to now sit down and write out a list of all that you are blessed with. We all have something. I really believe that we attract to ourselves more of what we think, and by thinking of what we hate can keeps us very down.
Just sharing what I've found is working for me. It's worth a try, as I believe we were meant to live joyful and peaceful lives while on this earth. Something our spouses have already attained.
My best to you and all of us who use this forum.

Hi Adela. I think you already know what you want to do. There's no way you need to be uncomfortable on Thanksgiving. Use your 'gut' feeling and do what feels good. Maybe you could visit your daughter after your ex has left? I agree with Kasey's words of advice. Only you can make the choice that will make yourself feel good. I have to do it all the time now.
Wishing you the best,

Youthful movie (Polar Express). Bought it for me.
But actually was looking for a reason to post on this board. Have been away a long time and am glad to see some familiar names.
I retired from teaching July 1st and am enjoying it.
Want to wish everyone here a happy holiday season.
