  1. Rick had to remove a person who sent an unappropriate private message to me, and maybe it was sent to you and others too.

It was a good excuse for you to check in though; sorry to hear about your Dad. Wishing the best for you and your family.

  2. Well, it's been almost 23 months since Tim passed and I've come a long way. But on certain days like today I miss him so much. I recently was invited out by a gentleman my age and we went to dinner and a concert.

But when it was all over, I realized that in my mind I am still married to Tim. I even put my wedding ring back on for a while. This month would have been our 46th wedding anniversary. Maybe that's why I'm feeling as I am right now. I'll get through it, I always do.

    Just venting, I guess.

Timothy P 1938-2004 We all miss you.

  3. Don, I hardly ever check in here any more as I have moved on in a very healing way since the loss of my Tim in 2004.

But I wanted to send you my condolences on the loss of your Lucy. You were always very encouraging to me and Tim when he was going through it all.

I am sure Lucy will be guiding you from her new place just as I know Tim is guiding me. You'll absolutely know when she is talking to you.

    My best,

  4. Not only my clothes, but the colors of my rooms, the color of my car, my house, etc. all reflect me. I think it's the same for all of us. That's why we live in such a colorful world - each of us 'wearing' the colors that suit our personalities.

  5. :D I let an older man get in line in front of me at the super market the other day as he had only one item - roses wrapped in paper.

Turns out the roses were for his fiance who he is marrying next week. He is 81 years old.

He was proud to tell me his story and it made me happy to listen.

    Is that cool or what!

  6. What a wonderful note. I'm sure you will always treasure it. I have found many notes in various places that Tim had written, mostly measurements for the many renovations he was working on. I love seeing his very careful handwriting.

I am about 1 year ahead of you in this grieving process. It's so hard to believe, yet we must go on, and so we do. Thank goodness for our family.

  7. :D Some years ago when my daughter and son-in-law were stationed in HI (airforce) we were able to go visit for 10 days. Since we had a free place to stay, it felt like we were living there. We made this trip on three separate occasions and I will never forget it.

  8. I had a new kitchen floor installed yesterday in my 1972 kitchen (my 3rd one), But the great part of it is that they laid it right over the floor tiles my husband worked so hard to put down. He was such a do-it-your-selfer. I'll always know they are under there and that his work was not destroyed.

  9. Suzie Q, I am so very sorry your Mom has passed. I am only 4 years older then her, so it hits home with me. It's very hard to lose a Mom, may she be with you always in spirit.

  10. I am living proof that as time passes the mind adjusts somehow. Today was my second Easter without Tim and yet our family was able to make it be an o.k. event. My kids and grandkids all went to his marker and found some treasures the Easter Bunny (me) had hidden nearby. We "shared" them with Grampa and celebrated memories of our past Easters with him. It seems that as time goes by we keep thinking up new traditions. It's helping us with the healing process.

  11. I love having an excuse to go visit our marker. It has been 15 1/2 months for me and I am so glad spring is here so I can go more often. Today I took three daffodils that recently popped up at our home. Tomorrow on Easter I'll take a pot of beautiful mums. I get a sense of peace each time I visit; I feel his presence always, no matter where I am.

I wish you and all who read this a blessed and peaceful Easter.
