  1. It is true ....every treatment works differently on every individual. Our oncologist told us that the carboplatin does not work on everyone but other otpions do work. So, my best to finding the right combination and hang in there.

Although, it sounds awful now, you are lucky that you are in an early stage. Please keep us up to date and prayers to you.

There are many treatment options and the more tests that are run, the more you will know. Knowing the plan of action is half the battle. You will find alot of information and comfort here.

  8. Extra prayers sent your way! As a caregiver, I have found the book Challenge Cancer and Win! It's a step by step nutrition plan for specific cancers and details food, supplement, and vitamin studies completed. The book could be more updated but still has alot of good information and I feel great about helping him in this way.
  9. My husband gets the same dizziness. I rented a wheelchair for our last outing which came in very handi and plan to do it for a wedding at the end of the month since my husband will have chemo a day before. Have fun at the weddings!

  11. TBone--- Good to hear you are tolerating the Taxotere well enough. Prayers and hugs that this treatment shrinks that cancer away! This is the next line of chemo that my husband will be taking....
  12. Hi Jessnick! My husband was in hospital for almost two and one-half months and is really doing great now! So hang in there, take a pad a paper with you for questions and notes, and make sure you and doctors schedule time to talk. You will find lots of answers and support here.
  13. Cheryl, Congratulations on your first year milestone and Happy Birthday to Jack. Wow, what a year this has been. You are an amazing woman and your strength is a true inspiration. Many, many more years to you and Jack both!
  14. He is on the number one morning show with two other guys. It's on the station 98Rock. My husband is the longest running newscaster (and he does the usual morning show comedy stuff) at the same rock station in the country. Each year, the station has a big infield party at the Preakness. If you watch the race tomorrow on TV, you probably will see the 98 rock signs. The station installed a studio in our house so he could continue to work with the other guys until he is ready to work at the station. I now get up at 4:30 AM with him!! The show is pure comedy, interviews, and news. My husband was really touched by the listeners. They sent cards, e-mails, gifts, and contributions. He has put a new face on lung cancer in our city.
  15. My husband's onc schedules a PET , CT, and MRI every three months while on the chemo to make sure the chemo is still working. He has two more rounds---another check and then the onc. will see where to go from there.
  16. I am sure that you will receive better care. I know everyone says this---but it is a roller coaster ride and you are on the right track now!
  17. I agree with everyone---be as agressive as you can be!!
  18. Karen and Dave, Such wonderful news!!!! Keep this news coming....
  19. Oh Ginny, Your news is so much handle. My shoulder is here for you...prayers and hugs to you!
  20. My husband has been on a popular morning radio show for the last 25 years. He is doing his first public appearance since the diagnosis tomorrow morning at the Preakness Races Infield. The listeners don't know yet and he is going to surprise them on stage.
  21. My husband is drinking the green tea now. Are most people drinking tea or taking capsules?
  22. I just want to tell everyone about a wonderful book I am reading called The Power of Now by Eckhart Tolle. It is a "spiritual enlightment" book that has helped me even more achieve a feeling of peacefulness and true enjoyment of each day. The book has helped me get in touch with my soul and trasform myself to living in just the present and not the past or future. So, I simply feel more joy in my life, from appreciating each day to its fullest. It's a book that allows for wonderful reflection. Check out the write up at Amazon....
