    $20 bet

Homer, a handsome dude, walked into a sports bar around 9:58 PM. He sat down next to this blonde at the bar and stared up at the TV. The 10:00 news was on. The news crew was covering a story of a man on a ledge of a large building preparing to jump.. The blonde looked at Homer and said, "Do you think he'll jump?" Homer says,"You know, I bet he'll jump." The blonde replied, "Well, I bet he won't." Homer placed $20 on the bar and said, "You're on!" Just as the blonde placed her money on the bar, the guy did a swan dive off of the building, falling to his death. The blonde was very upset and handed her $20 to Homer, saying, "Fair's fair. Here's your money.." Homer replied, "I can't take your money, I saw this earlier on the 5 o'clock news and knew he would jump." The blonde replies, "I did too; but I didn't think he'd do it again." Homer took the money.......
  5. One of the expected side effects from Bill's chemo was the metallic taste in foods. It has recently gotten much worse and he says that lately he feels like he can even taste metal on his teeth. He's tried switching to plastic utensils, but it hasn't helped. He has noticed that foods with a tomato base and higher in sodium don't seem to have the metallic taste. That may not mean much, but we were wondering if anyone else has any suggestions or possibly a mineral or vitamin supplement that would decrease the taste of metal. Just pulling at strings here, but looking for feedback or other experiences. Thanks.
  6. Sharon, Absolutely sending all my prayers to you. Please let us know what you find out as soon as you can. I'll be thinking of you! Love,
  7. Randi, I wasn't able to view the movie...silly firewalls on my computer here at work. I'll give it a try when I get home later and I'm sure it will be great. I'm so sorry to hear that your mother isn't doing better. I hope that there are others that have some experience with how to help you deal with this situation and how to help your mother cope better. I'll be thinking of you!
  8. Joanie, Way to go! Your news is better than any box of candy or bouquet of flowers!
  9. Angie, Please know that I am thinking of you and praying for you during this especially difficult time. I just don't know what else to say and I know that there are no words that will really make you feel better. Just please know that so many others are with you. Love,
  10. Oh Addie!!!! I love the pictures! You look beautful with or without hair...and you too Schmaydee. I thought it was strange the way Bill's hair has begun to grow back also Diane...he has this upside down frown on the base of his neck where the hair never fell out after WBR; yet as we get further from his last treatment the hair is beginning to grow straight up the back of his head almost like a mohawk....very strange. I think I like my husband better bald too! GREAT PICTURES...thanks for posting!
  11. Hi Barb, That sounds like a report for the Good News forum to me!
  12. Maryanne, Nothing new to add to what the others have said, just wanted to concur that Bill had swallowing problems as well that we associated with the radiation. Shortly after he finished....his throat began feeling better.

  16. Welcome aboard Greg. I, too, am a spouse/best friend/caregiver (all that good stuff) to a lung cancer survivor. We are 9 months out from my husband's diagnosis of Stage IV and things are looking good. The best thing I did after the initial shock wore off...was log onto this site and join in. On your good days, we will celebrate with you and on your bad days, we will be there to give you support and lend a shoulder. Glad to have you around!
