  2. I hate that you are going thru this. I know how much mom's mean to us. Get the Dr to check her-it could be a side effect from the wbr or it could be mets. Love and prayers, Cindy
  3. I too found this site in Jan 2003 on Goggle, 2 years after I was diag. I think I was about the 9th or 10th to sign on. It was a blessing that day. I do not have a support group here in Robinson, so you all are it for me. I am amazed at how this has grown over the years. THANK YOU KATIE AND RICK Cindy
  4. Cheryl-I wanted to say I love the pic too. Our dogs become our kids! Hate that you are in chemo again!!! You need Cindi"s Pub! Cindy RN

  8. I am so glad to see you post. Jen and I talked on the phone several times about how this disease effected our families. She was a fighter! The best legacy she can have is how she effected the people left behind- Love Cindy RN

  10. There are some of us with long term survival. I was diag in 2/2001 with a relapse in 2/2003 but at this time I have not had chemo since Aug 2003. I would just be there for her. She is going to need some help later during treatment, I did, I got tired alot. Good luck, Cindy

  12. Congrats. I know the feeling-no hope given at first. Mine was extensive in 2/2001 then relapsed in 2/2003, well I am still here. I still go in every 3 months, one time bld work and chest xray, the next a CT and bld work. So far so good. Cindy
  13. Sorry I have been busy this week and have not been on the computer. I was diag. in 2/2001 and had a relapse in 2/2003 see below. I am now 3 years!!!! since the last chemo session. I am doing well, a little more tired than before and a few aches and pains-could be I am almost 50!! BUT I am stil here. There is always hope. Cindy
  14. Could be pain meds, could be some of his organs-kidney, liver etc are not functioning as well as they should be so there may be some toxins building up. Lots of reason for confusion. Talk to the Dr. Cindy

    Port Question

I never thought about a pillow for the seatbelt I put my belt on and put the shoulder part behind me so I really just have the lap part on. In the truck the airbag is turned off for me. In the car I guess I just take my chance Cindy
  16. Ambien is good but too expensive for me. Switched to Xanax 1 mg at bedtime, works well and cheap! Cindy
  17. Do not give up. Look below-I was diagnosed in 2/2001 with a relapse in 2/2003 and I am still putting away. A little slower than a few years ago but I still take care of most things here at home. My mom had nsclc in 92 and died in '94. My sis was preg. with her 2nd one at the time. I know it was so hard on her. Medicine has advanced since then. Enjoy every day with her. Cindy
  18. Deb-I am glad you kept this going. I was sad/glad to see some of those names again. Cindy RN My name and I have not worked as a nurse too much the last few years so it is nice to see the RN after my name again-that is my story. Katie-VERY clever
  19. Good to hear from you-you have always been a compassionate person-and very missed here. Cindy
  20. This has been a rough few weeks. I read thru most of these old posts and hated reliving the passing of so many who had posted here. I on the other hand am so glad to have gotten to know them AND realize that alot of us are still here. Darrell had a post on SCLC about the 'roller coaster' we are on. It has been one- Hope you all cont to post how you got your names. Cindy Update-mine is because I miss signing the RN after my name at work so here I get to see it alot.

    New one!

Darrell-this roller coaster can be the worst. The highs and lows are enough to do you in. Forget about the cancer, the ride can kill you. Glad to hear 2nd opin was better! Cindy
  23. If he is willing to try the chemo-go for it. Pain control tho is a priority! If you hurt you don't want to fight. Help him to get what he needs. Cindy
  24. Mine is And does that matter? If I have time I add do you ask liver or pancreatic cancer pts if they were alcoholics? Do you ask someone with colon cancer did you eat a high fat diet? There is always some idiot who just does not think! I am SMOKIN hot! Cindy
