  1. My best advice (coming from a nurse) is to WRITE down ALL the questions and then call and make an apt. to have these questions answered. Write them down while in the Dr office. If you do not understand then ask him again. I have to do this occ. and my Dr has never been short or aggravated. Good Luck
  2. I agree with Jonathon. A similar drug to the cisplatin is the carboplatin but not with such toxic side effects. I can not hurt to ask if this could be added. Good Luck

  5. Connie-Your mom has had it rough. I remember wanting my moms suffering to be over. I loved her so much but she was not going to get better. The only hope she had was to go quickly. God did grant that. Cindy

    a song for mommy

Renee-I can't say it will go away. It does get easier as time passes. I still 9 years later do not have 1 day pass that I do not think about my mom but I do know that we can not live in the past. Living is what we do everyday, looking forward. My mom would be so sad if she thought we we were not living for the future. You too will reach that point. I know right now it is hard to look around and others are acting like everything is the same. It is not and will never be the same, but you can learn to accept the changes. God loves you. We do to. Love Cindy

  11. This to will pass. Tomorrow is a new day. I could go on and on but I wanted you 2 to know how you loved and looked up to. I wish you bright lights at the end of the tunnel.
  12. Here is an email story I received and had saved. Maybe this will help some who question 'WHY'-It may be long BUT very good. Brenda was a young woman who was invited to go rock climbing. Although she was very scared, she went with her group to a tremendous granite cliff. In spite of her fear, she put on the gear, took a hold on the rope, and started up the face of that rock. Well, she got to a ledge where she could take a breather. As she was hanging on there, the safety rope snapped against Brenda's eye and knocked out her contact lens.Well, here she is, on a rock ledge, with hundreds of feet below her and hundreds of feet above her. Of course, she looked and looked and looked, hoping it had landed on the ledge, but it just wasn't there. Here she was, far from home, her sight now blurry. She was desperate and began to get upset, so she prayed to the Lord to help her to find it. When she got to the top, a friend examined her eye and her clothing for the lens, but there was no contact lens to e found. She sat down, despondent, with the rest of the party, waiting for the rest of them to make it up the face of the cliff. She looked out across range after range of mountains, thinking of that what the Bible says, "The eyes of the Lord run to and fro throughout the whole earth." She thought, "Lord, You can see all these mountains. You know every stone and leaf, and You know exactly where my contact lens is. Please help me." Finally, they walked down the trail to the bottom. At the bottom there was a new party of climbers just starting up the face of the cliff. One of them shouted out, "Hey, you guys! Anybody lose a contact lens?" Well, that would be startling enough, but you know why the climber saw it? An ant was moveing slowly across the face of the rock, carrying it on it's back. Brenda told me that her father is a cartoonist. When she told him the incredible story of the ant, the prayer, and the contact lens, he drew a picture of an ant lugging that contact lens with the words, "Lord, I don't know why You want me to carry this thing. I can't eat it, and it's awfully heavy. But if this is what You want me to do, I'll carry it for You." I think it would probably do some of us good to occasionally say, "God, I don't know why you want me to carry this load. I can see no good in it and it's awfully heavy. But, if you want me to carry it, I will." God doesn't call the qualified, He qualifies the called. Yes, I do love GOD. He is my source of existence and my savior. He keeps me functioning each and every day. Without Him, I am nothing, but with Him...I can do all things through Christ which strengthens me. (Phil. 4:13)

  19. Please do not give up hope. You are the strength that Keith is is depending on. You are in the same seat as my husband and he sometimes admits he wishes he could die first because he can not imagine being with out me. I try to reassure him that " he just might!!" He then laughs it off but I really believe it is harder on the other partner. You just keep hanging in there and vent all you need here. Love ya! cindy

    Lets all Pray!

Father God-Father we thank You for the lives you have given each of us. Lord we thank you for Your Son, Jesus. Because of Him we are all brothers and sisters in Your family and our sins are all forgiven. . We have all joined in praying for each other that have this disease, cancer. Lord we ask for healing and we ask for the courage to take each day and make it glorious for You. Lord we ask for guidence for the scientists working towards a cure for this. Thank You for the support we have here on this forum. In His Precious Name-Amen
