  1. Haven't been on here in awhile so Hello. I have a couple questions that I can't seem to find any answers to. I have been having on and off odd symptoms for the last 3 years. 2 years ago I had a CT and it was clean, last January I had a CT and a MRI and they were both clean. I have had a pulminary test and it was normal, actually both were. Have been on Prevacid for a Hiatil hernia, within the last two weeks I have been having Pain in my lower rib cage more toward the back right side. It feels like a tight muscle. So here is my question. When I look at symptoms to watch out for one of them is chest pain. So is that a prevalent symptom. I mean if I have chest pain but don't seem to have any of the other symptom is that something to worry about. Is the chest pain part of the other symptoms. Most everything states, cough, shortness of breath, coughing blood, and end with chest pain. Yes I am worried and that is why I ask. My mother died 30 years ago from skin cancer so I am kind of easily worried about this stuff, especially when I smoked for 10 years. Yes I have quit and I am going on 3 years without a cig. I know lots of times LC sneeks up on you so I want to be aware especially when I have been having right side and chest pain on that side. I guess What I'm looking for is the thought process, what symptoms should I really be looking for or aware of other than the text book symptoms. Thanks
  2. The MRI was actually on my cirvical spine or neck for a possible pinched nerve, new it wasn't because pain was in the side, anyway came back fine. haven't been exercising in about 1-2 months because of all of this. I think its not so much worry but more that the docs don't have a good answer for me. Why is my back and side hurting when I didn't seem to injur it and why does my chest ache off and on all over the place? And with this why all of a sudden or for the last 1-2 months have I been having to clear my throat constantly (is it my lungs still cleaning themselves) the flem or what ever it is doesn't feel like its coming from my lungs its just there. With this and all the test so far coming back negative or OK, I'm confused. Trying to figure out a elusive symptom and hoping not to have something that from the impression I get is hard as hell to detect.
  3. I don't want to write a book so I will put the details then ask the few questions I have. Didn't know what section to put this in but here goes. Quit smoking 15 March. Started riding 50 miles a week on 15 April. test done for tension headache on 1 July. 10 july is when everything SEEMED to start. slight burning in left area around left side close to spin. Since then have gone to ER 4 times for what I thought was heart attack due to chest pain. (alot brought on by ansiety) I have had 3 x-rays that they state look fine. Have had tons on blood tests and all seem to come back OK, have had a stress test and doc states GREAT. Gone to Pulminary and they state lung copacity is fine/normal. Endoscopy revieled slight hietal hernia taking zantac for that. I don't cough, I sleep through the night, I don't get fevers or sweats, I eat fine and not loosing weight. I can work out and when I do my lungs feel fine. Only symptom that I am complaining about to the DOC about is burning from my shoulder blades down to lower part of rib cage and sometimes along the spine. Pain under PECS now and again. Pain lower rib cage in my sides left some times and right other times, today its the right. the pain either feels like a mix of burning and jabbing of a finger if get my drift other days it feels like some one is pressing my chest or side or back with a knuckle. other than that I do constantly clear my throat. dont know where that comes from because I don't have any wheezing. could be throat is healing from the smoking but its been 6 months. Smoker for about 12 years, 1/2 to 1 pack a day. 39 years old. 99 percent healthy all my life that is why this concerns me since basically never gets sick and now. questions that I can't seem to get answers for - A symptom of lung cancer is constant chest pain - what would that feel like? Like what I have got. DOC don't think so. Should I be worried? Have not seen a cancer specialist yet because the docs don't seem to think its that. Yes I'm worried but am controlling that. but want to get rid of the chest pain, comes and goes and still trying to find out if its radiating from somewhere.
  4. This started because I came down flush one day in march and I never really get sick. felt strange that my body was doing what it was. July 1st I was concerned enough after all the tension in my head and neck that I went in. I had a head CT done and it was clear, had a LP done and it was clear. about 15 July started with the Chiro and also started sitting strait, that is why now the doc thinks it is just tight back muscles since they are on one side and low rib cage. Did get the xray done around 15 July with a emergecy DOC again and thats when he stated the Xray was normal. Yes I just seem to worry about every ache and pain and that may be all it is but since never really got sick like this before I was and am still worried, can't seem to shake it. Since I was a smoker I just started thinking the worst. I went from moving around alot up until June last year in the Navy to a job that I sit 8 hours a day infront of a computer so that is why they stated I had neck and tension headache and that is why I started with the chiro. Stopped the riding only because of the alignment work and wanted to give it a chance to strait'n the back before I start again in a bent position. MRI was scheduled on the neck/spine to see if my muscles were getting spasms because of a disk problem. Scheduled to do the spine so don't know if that is just the neck or the whole thing, we will see.
  5. 39 Years of age, smoked for about 10 years half to full pack daily. did not see a specialist just to the doctor and he took the xray because of worry.
  6. Quit Smoking in March due to feeling bad. Started exercising in April again, trying to get into shape. Riding 30-50 miles a week. stopped riding because of back pain and am now seeing a chiro. Anyway having pain in my back...left side below my shoulder blade. Got scared and went to doc and had xray done.....doc stated everything looked normal. pain comes and goes....feels like a knot in the ribs. No coughing, no weezing, not exhausted. just that pain and sometimes in my chest around the ribs. Chiro thinks its just the muscles. Scared. Should I worry.
