kimblanchard Posted October 28, 2004 Share Posted October 28, 2004 Interpret this study VERY CAREFULLY. Carboplatin is still an excellent drug and is still appropriate for many patients. This study, while important, is not that surprising. Cisplatin has in mosts studies been either equivelent to or slightly better than carboplatin. Cisplatin is a much more toxic drug and the authors had to tweak their data a bit to come up with a benefit over carboplatin. Meta-analyses are by nature also very suspect.
