bacalice
I have been reading the notes relative to PCI. I am trying to decide if it is a wise thing to do. Oncologist wants me to have it. The radiologist says it does not significantly increase chances for survival. I wish that i knew what to do. Please share your thoughts with me Dx'd SCLC 05/06/03[/b]
SDianneB
The studies I've read (one from Emory University in Atlanta) were done by Radiation Oncologists, and show a significant benefit to having PCI. I bet someone here has a link to studies, and there are some in the folders you see when you are at the "home" page of this forum. It's a tough decision, to be sure, and one that each person just has to weigh for him/herself. Di
schmaydee
yeah.... maybe.....i dont think anybody knows but it think it should be done (because nobody knows)... i think this (pci) has effected diff/worse than most folks......i'm a wuss.... i have 1 more tomorrow.... really w/me it was just a thing w/getting kinda ok..... then having to get sick all over again (voluntarily) and having recuperate all over again.... i look at it like i oughta have 6 months of feelin' good no matter what.....(maybe).....sure i might live to be 200.... but 6 months of feeling decent looks pretty good to me now..... and pci is gonna take away 2 months....... i just want "them" to leave me the hell alone...... let me get better or die one way or the other..... hehehehe...... 1 more .......s
