I haven't been able to bring myself to get another pet after having to have my Golden Retriever, Ginger put to sleep 5 years ago. She had cancer, as well. She left a real empty spot in my heart . kimblanchard Posted December 16, 2004 Share Posted December 16, 2004 TAnn, I am so sorry about Caesar and I sure do hope you get some good news soon. It does seem harder some times than others. I really feel for you. My Lab got cancer and I had to help him out, he was in my arms. It was heartbreaking but it was the right and loving thing to do. My other dog even got depressed for about 2 months and never really got over it until we got another dog. She actually brought a stray dog home with her and we kept him. I am one who believes dogs have souls and do go to Heaven. Let's hope so. Hope you are feeling a little better now and a lot better soon.
