kimblanchard
Quick question, The doctor told my dad that he will have to have a CT scan this week to check for any damage to his spine from the radiation. He is in the middle of radiation and chemo treatment. Has anyone had this before? He is not complaining of any problems. Is this routine? Just curious.......... Hebbie
I was actually informed AFTER radiation had ended that I had something along the lines of a "degenerative spine" (or something like that). I asked what the heck that was and was told it was damage to my spine from radiation. It is apparently the gift that keeps on giving... Justakid
I was also told about possible spine problems, my radiation oncologist was always taking pictures to see what was going on. The beam was also moved twice to get it away from the spine.
lilgna
I was never told necessarily that it would cause damage, however, I have a degenerative problem, in my spine and upper neck, post radiation, that I now reluctantly take Bextra for. What other options did we have? We had to take radiation............. I like the "gift that keeeps on giving", seems appropriate,
Fay A.
I was told that there would be radiation damage to the spine. And there has been. A price I was willing to pay.
kimblanchard
Thank you for your input! Dad is having the CT scan tomorrow, you are right, better radiation than the alternative! Take Care and prayers for all! Tammy
