shadowrose
HI Three men were working out of town and decided to split the cost of the room 3 ways. The room was 30.00. Each paid ten dollars, right? Ok...so, the motel manager thought about it, and decided he'd charged them too much. He had the bellboy take back 5$ to the men. Well, the bellboy kept two dollars of the money, and took $3.00 back to the men. So, if each man got one dollar back, that means each man paid $9.00 for his share of the room. The bellboy kept 2.00 which totals: 9 times 3=27 2 (bellboy) =29 Where did the other dollar go?
Debi
This was always my favorite riddle although I had heard it as 3 sailors and a ... well, never mind.... Anyway, hopefully it will drive the men a bit crazy trying to figure it out...

stand4hope
I didn't try the last one, but I did figure out this one. I won't tell either. Come on Frank, Bruce, John - go for it! Love, Peggy
kimblanchard
You are going the wrong way. The men combined to pay $27 - $9 each - and the hotel kept $25 and the bellboy $2. There is no missing dollar. From the $30, the hotel got $25, each man got 1, and the bellboy got two. That is the full $30. Curtis
