Guest TraciAnn Posted January 30, 2005 Posted January 30, 2005 Has anyone tried Coral Calcium? Is there truth to the claim that when the body becomes acidic a person is at higher risk for disease? Quote
karen335 Posted January 31, 2005 Posted January 31, 2005 Hi Traci, Welcome! I don't have an answer for you. Sorry. Try posting in Ask the Experts. They may be able to give you an answer. Blessings and prayers, Karen Quote
karenl Posted January 31, 2005 Posted January 31, 2005 There has been alot of talk on the board about the benefits or otherwise of trying to make the body a more alkaline environment to inhibit cancer growth. If you do a search at the top of the page you should find lots of information. Hope this helps! Karen Quote
Frank Lamb Posted January 31, 2005 Posted January 31, 2005 My wife takes coral calcium, but not for acid. She takes it for the calcium to help against osteoporosis (sp).(prevent the bones from weakening) Quote
john Posted January 31, 2005 Posted January 31, 2005 I personally don't believe it. They make outrageous claims that it will cure EVERYTHING. This is usually a red flag. The body maintains a pretty constant acid-base balance. If the body becomes too acidic or to alkaline, the body will make adjustments. Alkalosis and Acidosis can occur if the acid-base balance is not correct. http://www.sparknotes.com/health/minera ... erm_1.html http://www.quackwatch.org/01QuackeryRel ... coral.html Quote
Alisa Posted February 1, 2005 Posted February 1, 2005 I also read that Coral Calcium was a waste of money and has less calcium in it than regular calcium. I take an isotonix form of calcium that also has magnesium, potassium and D-3. Quote
Larry Posted March 12, 2005 Posted March 12, 2005 Bob bare Foot the big pusher of coral calcium was found out to be a fraud and that is why you no longer see him on TV hawking the stuff. My Daughter worked for a Vitamin CO. and they were under strick rule's about making unsubstanuated claim's and Bob Bare Foot was a well known con man at there company. But it is of interest to know that a lack of Vitamin D has shown to possibly cause certain Cancer's but more test are needed. Quote
