Guest DeeHee Posted February 23, 2005 Posted February 23, 2005 Started process to have Cyberknife treatment on small cell lung cancer area. When the treatment starts, what kind of side-effects can I expect? Anyone out there done this? Also in chemo at same time and tired from that every 3 weeks during week after 3 daily sessions. Quote
KarHart Posted February 23, 2005 Posted February 23, 2005 My husband is going to Miami next week for an initial consult for CK. From what I have read fatigue (short lived) seems to be the main side effect. Are you already scheduled? Have you checked the cyberknife support page - www.cyberknifesupport.org? There are postings there that may help you. Please keep us informed how it goes. Thanks. Karen Quote

carrie Posted February 24, 2005 Posted February 24, 2005 DeeHee, I am in the process of getting scheduled to have Steriotactic Radiosurgery to a couple of tumors in my brain. Cyberknife is a form of this radiosurgery. There is also Gamma Knife and IMRT, the differences are the machines and the manufacturers but they basically do the same thing. I have done a bit of research since I had WBR and tumors still showed up. After speaking to my surgeon I feel like the treatment will be succesful. Good Luck and let us know how it goes. Carrie Quote
