Glucophage/metfornim--NOT LUNG CANCER RELATED

Andrea

Recommended Posts

Hi. This is not LC related, but I have received great information from pepole here that is not LC related before :)

I started glucophage/metfornim for my polycystic ovaries and glucose resistance (I am not diabetic yet, just "pre-diabetic"). The side effects of vomiting and diahrea are NO fun.........I noticed that I was bad last weekend. Ok all week when I kept it to 1100 calories of healthy food. Last night I had meatball pizza and I was sick all night.

Just curious if anyone else taking that med had the same problems and if they went away.

You can PM me if you want :)

Thanks!

Andrea,

My daughter is on Metformine for insulin resistance, I believe you too are having trouble conceiving? She was on metformine for 2 months and got pregnant. They attributed her infertility to the insulin resistance.... anyway... she had no side effects from the drug, although I am not sure what dosage she is on. She has to remain on the drug until she is in her third month, then she may go off of it... she is nauseaus now, but we are attributing that to the pregnancy. Hope this drug solves your problems.... it worked miracles for my Sara. Love, Sharon

Andrea,

I have been on this stuff for 7 years in October. I have not had vomiting. Diarhea is part of my life for all kinds of reasons. When I went on it I became very concious of my diet. I could not count calories. I simply just lowered my carb intake. My diet varies a bit, but try to keep the carbs down. Pizza has not been a problem. It took 4 years but I lost 40 pounds.
