My dad is helping form a lung cancer support group in Louisville KY.

His background is in Social Work. A PhD in psychology is also helping with advisors from U of L cancer center (I think).

That is wonderful! I hope he will have a co-facilitator, just in case he is not able to be there, it is best to have 2 people at least. THis will help so many people! Connie has started 2 support groups, wonder if she could give you some pointers. Donna G

WHAT: Lung Cancer Support Group for survivors and their families.

WHY: To offer patients and their families an opportunity to be part of a group of people who are experiencing or have experienced the same trials so that together they can share their stories, strengths and hopes with each other and by doing so, know that they are not alone.

WHO: Survivors, Caregivers and Loved Ones. It will be the patient’s choice if they want anyone with them in the meetings. Survivors will facilitate the meetings.

Directions from the Watterson Expressway: Take Breckinridge Lane North, Turn right at the 4th traffic light, the building is on the left. The Cancer Resource Center is located on the first floor.

When: Every 2ND Thursday of the month

First meeting will be held on June 9, 2005
