Asking for a prayer

Please say a prayer for Rick.

He is in the ER.

He has had a cough for years that they associated with TB from 2000, contracted when we lived in London, England.

The cough has gotten worse. We, and doctors + clean x-rays a few months ago, attributed it to allergies and adult asthma.

Lately, he has been feeling very dizzy, weak and overall not in good health. We attributed that to his incredible and increasing workload at his job, frequent travel, and other responsibilities. Heck, the guy really needs a break. I did manage to get him to schedule an appointment on Mon. with our GP.

Tonight, on top of not feeling great, he began to bleed from his right ear and I freaked out and insisted he go to the ER.

He's there now. I can't be with him because of 2 small children who are here asleep and blissfully unaware of what is going on.

Please just say a prayer that everything turns out to be ok. I'm sure it will be, just need some reassurance. I hate not being there with him.

thank you

OH KATIE--

Sending many prayers that this is not serious and can be attributed to overwork and exhaustion and that the ear bleeding is nothing serious, perhaps an infection. Once Rick gets back home, perhaps it's time for the two of you or your family to have a long, overdue holiday. I can just imagine how badly and helpless you feel at not being able to be at the hospital with him. Hoping the phone will ring soon with some good news soon.

Many prayers being sent for Rick and ((((KATIE))). Please keep us updated.

Katie, prayers for Rick that there isn't anything serious going on, and prayers for you and and your family. We need you guys so very much - just take care of each other and tell Rick to get well soon! How about a vacation soon, sounds like you both could use it.

Please let us know how things are going.

Love and hugs,

Nancy B

Katie & Rick,

I'm so sorry to hear this. I cannot imagine how helpless you are feeling Katie that you cannot be there with him. Thank God for blissfully sleeping children. Please take care and let us know as soon as you get some news from Rick. In the meantime, I'll be keeping all in my prayers and saying a few extra for all the members that are already asleep and won't see this post until morning.

Love,

It is midnight here and I just got a call from Rick. They have run the gamut of tests, no sure answers yet but his heart monitor spiked four times and his ear continues to bleed-

They have decided to admit him for observation and more tests.

Prayers still needed if you can spare any.

Thank you.

Hi Katie.

Sorry this is happening. I would be going a bit crazy...I hope that you are managing all right. Prayers that his team will get to the bottom and get him all straightened out. Glad for the wisdom to go in and ask for help.

Prayers for Rick, Katie and family.

Katie, my hearts breaks for what you and Rick are going through. You must feel so helpless that you can't be there with him.

Hopefully, by now you may have received some prognoses. I pray that Rick is improving and is home or will be home soon.

As you can see, there are so many prayers and healing thoughts going out to Rick. You are wonderful and have always been so supportive for others. You also have so much knowlege. You are one of the main lifelines of this site. You deserve all the prayers and good wishes you can get.

I wish Rick a speedy recovery, and you strength to get through this.

I am just so frustrated for you and what you are going through. It has to be so tough when you have children at home

Mediatation prayers going out Rick, I am sorry this is so late in coming as, I don't always visit this site as I should.

Thank you Andrea who let us know you posted here.

Katie,

Sending lots of prayers.

May God grant you always

A sunbeam to warm you,

A moonbeam to charm you.

Laughter to cheer you,

Faithful friends near you.

And whenever you pray,

Heaven to hear you.

Katie,

Overwork and stress can cause amazing symptons, may that be all that it is.

When Rick gets home you need to find a good babysitter and you and Rick need to plan a get-away weekend. Not only do you need it, you deserve it.

May he be home in time for Mother's Day dinner. Prayers are on the way.

Of course I can spare a prayer or 2 for Rick and even for you. I am so sorry you have this worry right now. Hopefully the doctors will get to the bottom of this quickly and Rick will be good as new in no time. God bless you and your family.

Take care

Katie, you give so much to all of us and ask so little in return. I'm hoping by the time you read this, Rick is back at home with the family. I don't pray often enough, but you are at the top of the list!

Keep us posted and remember to take a deep breath and let it out slowly. Helps to expel some worry cells out of the body.

We don't know anything yet. A heart specialist wants him to stay so that more tests can be ran. They are giving him respiratory treatments (the exact same ones my dad had) as well as lung function tests to determine if it is really asthma and if those treatments help at all.

There are other tests scheduled as well but of course Rick couldn't "remember" and I wasn't there when the dr. was there.

The adult asthma I can deal with, the heart issues- well, lets just hope there aren't any. They're sending over a pulmonologist as well I guess to cover all bases.

So no new news yet except that they are keeping him again another night.

It's been a long weekend and it isn't over yet-

Thanks so much for your prayers.

They really really do help.
