tnmynatt
I know you didn't ask me. But, my take on this is that this study further confirms that Tarceva works for those that have a certain gene mutation. Most non-smokers and some smokers seem to have this gene mutation. When they do, the response is very dramatic and usually results in stable disease. I had never read that it could be harmful to those that do not respond--making the chemo. less effective. It's amazing how little we as a society know about the workings of the human body...what a complex work of God! Please don't shoot me for responding. This drug is near and dear to my heart, also. Charlie was really going downhill in Jan. 2005 and this drug stabilized him. Unfortunately, alot of people have another gene mutation that makes Tarceva quit working. This seems to have been the case with Charlie. Take care and keep searching!!
