auntiefi
Hello again Thanks for replies to previous posts. This is just a quick one to ask if anyone can explain the following terminology. My dad hasn't really discussed things with us, but his notes say 'metastatic pharyngeal carcinoma'. I know this relates to his neck tumour but what do the other terms means? Thanks in advance Fiona
ginnyde
Fiona, On the left side of your screen, under LC Info, there is a section called Glossary. Click on there and you will find the definitions for lots of terms used by the doctors.
Elaine
Fiona, I am almost certain that the phrase means that your dad has throat cancer that has spread to some other place in the body. The first word means throat, second means "Spread" and the last means cancer. You might ask the question in the ASK the EXPERTS forum, if you aren't sure. love and fortitude elaine
Calintay
I am leaning towards Eileens answer. Prayers
Anais
Carcinoma = Cancer that begins in skin or tissues that line the inside or cover the outside of internal organs. Metastatic = Cancer that has spread to either the lymph nodes or organs
