Mantras are things you say over and over (out loud or in your mind) that help with meditation and healing. They help still your mind when you can't fall asleep and helps you tune out pain or unpleasant treatments. Don't know if it works, but it can't hurt! Heck, I'm going to say them all! They're supposedly just for lung cancer.
