KatieB
They are in and I have a huge WALL of boxes in my living room....geeze rick is gonna kill me. Does anyone live in the DFW area and have office space you'd like to donate to LCSC...? hmmm? Didn't think so. So I guess Rick will have to get over LCSC stuff taking over our house!! HA! Anyway, here's the scoop. You can have as many as you need for free (while supplies last and until I get more) as long as you pay for shipping. These notebooks are 5 lbs each so shipping is PER notebook. Go to http://postcalc.usps.gov/ put in 5 lbs type in 76039 in the FROM zip code, and then type in yours in the TO zip code. It will give you your shipping cost PER notebook. No handling... I just want you guys to get these. You can mail the shipping costs by check, money order or cash to LCSC PO BOX 1205 Euless, TX 76039 OR Pay by paypal- Be sure to indicate that it is for the notebook, and the qty. Thanks guys. P.S> I AM GOING OUT OF TOWN ON BUSINESS THIS WEEK, SO I CAN'T BEGIN SHIPPING ANYTHING UNTIL SATURDAY.

missyk
I'm curious, Katie, can this be shipped as media mail (book rate)? Would be quite a savings for alot of people if it were...not sure if it passes all the criteria at the usps site, mostly, as long as it doesn't contain advertisments i *think* it's allowed to go as media mail. KatieB
Sandy, Here was teh e-mail I sent several days ago on this; LCSC has the opportunity to work with the Lance Armstrong Foundation to obtain a large quantity of Cancer Survivorship Notebooks for our members here. Would anyone be interested in this? You would pay for only the shipping, LCSC would provide them to you for free. Below is a description, Quote: Notebook is designed to organize and guide your cancer experience. The portable, three-ring binder contains a variety of information covering a full range of physical, emotional and practical survivorship topics. The Survivorship Notebook contains a core set of topics such as Aftereffects of Cancer Treatment, Living With Uncertainty and Communicating With Your Health Care Team. The notebook also includes stories of cancer survivors talking about their experiences with cancer and three survivorship tools to help you keep track of important information. The Notebook includes sections for you to add your own records, notes, pamphlets and information from your health care providers. Because the Notebook is portable, you can take it with you to health care appointments and other important meetings. Let us know.
KatieB
Missy, or anyone who has some free time- can you please call the USPS and find this out- whether or not this can be sent as media mail? You can describe it as a Cancer Survivorship BOOK with a total weight of 5 lbs. Either way, it is well worth the shipping cost, since the notebooks are free and full of substantial information, inserts, organization tools, etc... Thanks, I am flying out of town in the AM and won't be able to check until I come back.

jang
Any book can be shipped media mail. They don't ask what kind of book. I'm sure this would qualify.
missyk
from the usps website....think this qualifies without a problem... Media Mail (Book Rate) Description Used for books, film, manuscripts, printed music, printed test materials, sound recordings, play scripts, printed educational charts, loose-leaf pages and binders consisting of medical information, videotapes, and computer recorded media such as CD-ROMs and diskettes. Media Mail cannot contain advertising. The maximum size is 108 inches in combined length and distance around the thickest part. Mark each package "Media Mail" in the postage area. So it sounds like all we have to do is make sure it's marked as "media mail" and we're looking at about a 3 to 4 dollar difference in the cost of shipping. (Wow, all that time spent on Ebay paid off!!! LOL )
