Study announcement (approved by all participating IRB's) below: Lung Cancer Patients Needed for Symptom Study (IRB # 7589) Sixty people with non-small-cell lung cancer are needed to take part in a study examining the influence of beliefs about lung cancer on symptom distress. Study participants will fill out four questionnaires, and about 30 people will also be interviewed by the investigator about their symptoms and how they perceive them. Filling out the questionnaires takes about 20 minutes. The interviews take 15 to 60 minutes. All study participants will have an opportunity to talk about their illness with the investigator, a clinical nurse specialist and an Oregon Health & Science University School of Nursing doctoral candidate. Study participants may request a brief summary of their own survey results, if they wish.
