These little simple questions are harder than you think-- it just shows you how little we pay attention to the commonplace things of life. Put your thinking caps on. No cheating! No looking around! No getting out of your chair! No using anything on or in your desk or computer! Can you beat 20?? (The average is 7) Write down your answers as you go. How many hot dog buns are in a standard package? 21. On which playing card is the card maker's trademark? 22. On which side of a Venetian blind is the cord that adjusts the opening between the slats? 23. There are 12 buttons on a touch tone phone.What 2 symbols bear no digits? 24. ginnyde Posted October 13, 2005 Share Posted October 13, 2005 I got 18 right, BUT I dispute #9's answer. I listen to the local ABC TV station on FM 87.7 - haha - this is lower than 88. Theoretically the earth's rotation should effect drain water that way, but it's actually random on such a small scale. The "coriolis effect" really applies to things as large as hurricanes. However, that's an awesome list that I'll show people. I can't tell you how many tires I've changed, and yet I just had no idea how many lugnuts there were...great list. Snowflake Posted October 13, 2005 Share Posted October 13, 2005 I got 20. Missed one color in #4, too many matches in my answer to #7, #9 was wrong, #14 and #25. Guess I'm bad with circles.... The direction of the carousel: American carousels usually run in a counterclockwise direction to facilitate grabbing the brass ring (which is now mostly gone) with the right hand. Whaddaya want from me? ), #9...I listen to FM, #17 - what do I know from lug nuts and why AREN'T there 6 - a nice even number?, #20 - I still say some hot dog buns are in packs of 10, two more than the 8 pack of hot dogs, #21 - should know...but thought it was the Joker, and #22 - because some of the newer blinds DO have it on the right (as it did out in the house we just stayed in, in Oregon!) Not bad for a women who just had her head in the toaster, eh? I love tests like this...and the rad onc people keep telling me it's really good to test my brain.
