ALEXANDRIA, VA – Oct. 18, 2005 – The National Mental Health Association today released a workbook to help Americans with Medicare enroll in the new Medicare prescription drug program, available online at the National Mental Health Association web site.

With the release of Medicare prescription drug plan details this week, it is important that Medicare beneficiaries get educated about their drug plan options so they can begin enrolling in the plan that best meets their needs on November 15. The new drug coverage starts on Jan. 1, 2006.

"People with Medicare will finally have help getting the medications they need through the new prescription drug plans," said Michael Faenza, president and CEO of NMHA. "For some this will be entirely new coverage; for others who have received drug coverage from Medicaid, it will mean a change to how they receive their medications.
