Fay A.
Had a little problem with the contrast dye used in Friday's CT scan...resulted in a serious direct hit to my kidneys and liver coming on the heels of chemo. I've lost over 10 pounds in the past 6 hours, but I'm not in need of IV therapy yet. Folks, you can help balance your hydration by mixing one part gatorade, one part water, a pinch of salt, and drinking it or making it into ice cubes/crushed ice. Or drink Pedialite (?). Also, keep bananas on hand as they're good sources of potassium. If all else fails eat potato chips and drink lots of water, even if it does make you feel like you have small knives under every inch of your skin. Back to the cave.... You are in my prayers every night....you are one tough cookie. XOXOXOXOX, Holly
Snowflake
Uh, well...at least you're consistent? Is there any other dye they can use for your scans? Soooo ridiculous to compromise your kidneys for a flippin' picture! You have a cave to decorate for the holidays, you should be painting the walls in scenes of Mammoth Hunts and self-portraits with spears! Geesh! Hope you're back up to weight to be a contender again by Monday! xxoo, Becky
Don Wood
Yikes! Sorry about that. Glad to get the update, Fay. Hang in there, lady. Don
Leslie221
Fay, Thanks for the info on hydration. It's nice to know it's here if I need to come back and take a lesson! If it's always darkest before the dawn, you must have one heck of a dawn about to come up! It'll shine right into your cave and show all the sawdust! Feel better. eppie
I'm remembering now that daddy didn't do well after the his last CT scan. He had a tough time with diarrhea. He didn't get dehydrated but I guess the good news after that sort of made me forget all about it. Much love, Eppie

kamataca
Ding dang---what a deal! Are you just challenging the universe? Do you spit into the wind and ask it if that's the best it's got? Oh well, you'll lick this one too. Criminey, what's next? Kelly

gail
Yes, enough already. I am reminded of the Timex commercial of years ago--"takes a lickin' and keeps on tickin'" Or, as someone called me once, "like the energizer bunny " Crawl out of that cave any time you are ready! In the cave, rest. gail
