Ellen B.
Hi All, It's now more than a week ago that Henk finished his 28x radiations plus 3rd chemo treatment. Right now, he is very tired but still has problems with sleeping at night. He is on sleeping pills, but these pills have some nasty side effects. Anybody here who has (had) the same problems? Any suggestions how to get some sleep at night? Ellen.
J.C.
Ellen, My husband was put on 1 mg of Ativan to be taken before he went to bed with that he slept very well. It is for anxiety and at night it did him good. Hope Henk find some good sleep soon. Hugs Jackie
MurielK
I had this problem during and following chemo both times (2003 and 2004). It's been 6 months since my last Tx and I still have trouble sleeping. Had the same problem following surgeries (even knee surgery). I've been using 1/2 mg of ativan at night and it really works wonders. Hope you find a solution and happy dreams. Muriel K

Leslie221
Hi Ellen! Sounds like you've already heard from the voices of experience. Hope one of these solutions works for Henk. Bet he's glad he's got all that treatment BEHIND him and can recover for awhile. Thinking of you, Leslie
Ellen B.
Thank you all so much for answering. We will ask the GP if Henk is allowed to use these meds. Leslie, Henk still has one 'round of chemo' to go, he'll have this treatment next week. Two days before Christmas! Ellen.
